Aharon I'm fairly sure that Warmoth don't do thru necks. Their website is a top way to waste a couple of hours. The body is usually pre pilot drilled for the bridge. I've had one deal that for me went a bit 'sour'. I was the seller (well a trade actually) and the recipient a few days later highlighted a damaged neck which was duly photographed and I have no doubt that it was damaged (by adjusting the trussrod I suspect). The question is when it was damaged. The photo showed 'dirt' in the crack supposedly evidencing it was an old issue but the photos I took of the bass clearly showed no crack at all 2 days before I personally exchanged basses. So the origin of the 'dirt' and the crack was to me very suspect. I ended up buying a new neck from the US and posting it to the other guy. My point is fault's not allways clear and I don't want to drag the whole thing into the public domain with names and counter allegations. Generally it's been great but as the site gets bigger it's a statistical reality that eventually you'll bump into someone with a different idea of 'right and wrong' to yourself. I've also had two people commit to buy basses recently and then back out. In one case I was awaiting on the Paypal notification of payment before sending the packaged bass and pm'd the guy to see 'what gives'. He told me he'd forgotten to tell me he'd changed his mind! In the other case I held one for months waiting for the seller to be able to afford it and then they told me they'd bought a much more expensive bass and the deal was off! I understand TB. The truth for me is I tend to be very defensive around Jaco - not that you would have noticed I don't think the clip is deadful either - it's art for god's sake and art isn't perfection. Music would be sythesised and computer generated otherwise. I personaly don't want my music perfect, something more organic yet creative soothes my soul. But. thankfully one man's biscuit is another man's Canestrelli

Schaller have even less depth of thread than the Boston 2 nut ones so they won't be a helpful alternaltive. Get a thinner strap?

Are you basing your opinion of Jaco on one Utube clip? I'm not sure when it was filmed but he did suffer enormously from the effects of overindulgence in mainly coke and alcohol. Even given that I still think it's brilliant. To see the significance of the man you need to go back and listen to accounts of other musicians who were around when maybe a camera or recorder wasn't. Make yourself aware of his raw and vibrant energy. Listen to what he was recording with Weather Report and before, and then step back and ask what else was going on bass wise at that time. I'm sorry but imo he's unique, whether or not you like his stuff. He did things with a bass that hadn't even been dreamnt of before and we all celebrate his legacy today. A true innovator. He also played a groove like no other too. At least that's what I firmly believe. I do love jazz mind

Love him or loath him there was bass before Jaco and there was bass after Jaco.. I think you really have to look at him from this perspective, he was coming up with this stuff on the hoof. I'm, errr.... a bit of a fan

I'm fairly sure he's got a place over this side too.
