1. Many thanx one and all for the help. Only problem now is that I've cut a plucking finger by leaving a sharp knife in the washing up bowl. I was hoping that the cut wouldn't be through the skin or not quite in the place I play with. No chance I just hate cutting my hands. Blood on the strings.
2. That's great John shoulda known you'd come to the rescue I was thinking along the same lines with sizes and the weight thing. I've already got a 3U Warwick rack bag with the Hartke in it and that'll do nicely. I've order one of these: http://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/music...sp?id=3680-4677 and I'll put the Korg and LMII in that and nothing will be jammed in too tightly. Sorted
3. 'Google this'! I'm new to the idea of using a rack case. Is there a problem with using two amps and a tuner in one rack case? (Main and backup). Will a Korg DTR-2000, a Hartke LM500 and a Markbass LMII squeeze into a 4U case. That's it! Peter
4. The Flea is 98.73% sold!
5. Way out in front John Frances Pastorious III Les Claypool Bernard Edwards
6. Out of interest I find the ACG pre particularly good with a darkstar. It's really effective with the 'dub' tone that you get with the low pass rolled right back.
7. Strangely the Warmoth is the greatest contrast yet the most similar to play??
8. f***ed if I know - Xmas do - I'm pissed etc :
9. Rics really r rediculously radical - really
10. Good, very good in fact. Just got in, not sober, keyboaed confusung
11. I really enjoyed that. Brilliant set up advice.
12. If you still have the original and it's defective Andy at Wizard has been known to work wonders. Not just repairing but re-winding.
13. If he's been playing it for 30's years is it a wonder he hasn't been able to cultivate any feedback score?
14. I really do WANT to sell this guys Bump
15. You won't find one in better nick than this I suspect i.e. it's not possible to. Offers considered. Bump
16. Good morning Jon. I'd say that it probably lasts as long as it takes to establish that all is okay, and that shouldn't be unreasonably delayed by the seller either. If a fault then occurs it's seen to be the buyers responsibility unless it can be shown that it was an obvious fault waiting to happen. As you say, helping out/sharing costs is what I would do if it went Pete Tong in a disputable manner. I've done this in the past paying for a new neck for a bass even though I would argue it arrived to the buyer intact (I delivered). If I bought an amp and it just didn't work I'd want a full refund or a commitment to fully fund the repair at least. If Chris's guy just went awol I'd say that was well out of order. You may like to comment Mr Baker? Peter
17. What was I thinking?? Withdrawn. I'm putting my LMII up for sale. It's it new condition with rack ears and original box. Hell I'll throw in a kettle lead for free. I don't think I need to tell you what they are like as you all pretty much know methinks. This hasn't been abused in any way, never used beyond about 5 on the 'go' knob and it's only seen occasional home use (too loud) and about 5 band practices. Looking for £425 delivered to the UK. Do you really need a photo? Peter
18. It's an interesting issue that I have wondered about but don't often see discussed on BC or anywhere else. As in who's responsability is it to make sure that the goods arrive safely and working? I've always taken it, unless stated otherwise by the seller (and some do) that it's the seller's responsability to ensure that the goods arrive safe and working. If I sell something and it either doesn't get there (very rare in my experience) of is damaged/not working then I sort it out. Insurance is therefore entirely for the seller's benefit. So, is this the way it is? I'm surprised this guy had the cheek to return if he's gone 'incommunicado' after selling you a head that didn't work, whether or not it stopped working after it left him. Peter
19.
Don't suppose you have a Rick 4001 C64 McCartney, do you?
I certainly do, a C64S, and a Chris Squire. Both immense basses. The C64S has flats on and it's the nearest to a 'real' bass I've heard Both not for sale though. Yes the Thumb is a real beauty. The neck is amazing, hewn out of granite! The Modulus is sold awaiting collection. They are all great basses. The Warmoth is a superb workhorse, the neck is extremely comfortable. Yep I know it's not a 'real' horseshoe. The Extra's are pure bolt on and setting the bass back to 'normal' is a straightforward option so I intend to sell 'as is' at the moment. It's just a standard Ric with fitted options really. I'm thinking £950? It is early. Once I've 'refined' my collection and have my new ACG in hand I'll do a photo shoot. Peter
20.
i want 200 quid back ;-) in new light its obvious you overcharged me for the bb5000.
Aha Rob, BB5000 is quite a different beast - honestly.
21. Yep I'm single okay. I wonder why? My other bikes and basses are in the spare room
22.
A Price is nice!
I agree, but such is the nature of these things I'm not sure of the value. Rics tend to fetch a fair amount and interest would be an indicator of desirability. What would YOU suggest
