    Right, that's the Jazz now down to £750 plus P&P. These are £1300 new (more MRP) and this really is a bargain. I need to sell to retrospectively fund my new Thumb. It's also a cracking bass in nearly new condition with all case candy. Save a lot of dosh, you could probably sell it on for more when the market picks up Peter

    If time is not an issue I'd +1 for custom. My 2nd ACG is in progress and I can't emphasise strongly enough how much I love Alan's work and the whole process of having something made specially for yourself Peter

    I finally got to see a Duck Dunn in the flesh! This is a lovely bass, have no qualms about its condition. I also thought is sounded particularly well defined for a P bass. very nice indeedy As for the VTC on the Sadowsky I had one fitted to my Metro and it was a worthwhile addition. Peter

    I think your Modulus Flea is quite stunning too I'll hunt a photo. I bought mine from Marcus and it's received one more mod since I've had it. Marcus had it refinished by Dave Wilson who finishes the Sobel range of acoustic guitars. It's not a flamed finish but nevertheless it's beautiful and I prefer the more understated look myself. It has a Badass II fitted and has the Lane Poor pickup that also has the Flea motif I've since replaced the Aguilar 3 EQ with an ACG02 filter based unit and the result is stunning as Homer (Alan) will no doubt testify as he had a go today.     Mine has a label too. I once bought an amp described as 'new' by the eBay seller. It came without a box, manual or even a 'kettle' lead and it was covered in grubby fingermarks on the anodised plate around the controls. I suspect it had been nicked and I had the serial number checked out by a police colleague although nothing came up (it may not have been reported stolen or the owner didn't have a record of the serial number). The seller I learnt later was arrested trying to sell a stolen guitar on eBay. But you bought in good faith and the amp can't now be traced anyway. I got my amp for a good price and ended up getting another £20 back from the seller too in a dispute. Maybe that's your best approach as after all it's plainly not immaculate. Peter

Therefore there's a risk involved if the mod doesn't produce the hoped for results. If you were going for a John East pre-amp I'd personally stump for Alan Crinean's John East made ACG02 filter based pre-amp. At the risk of 'going on about it too much' it's an amazing pre that in my opinion knocks spots off a conventional pre. Not that John's pre-amps aren't great too. It's a shame (for comparison purposes) Alan that I've replaced the Thumper on my Warmoth P with the Darkstar but if you ever want to give the ACG02 pre-amp a whirl I'm more than happy for you to try it. The pre is so easy to install too. I've an '02' in a Jazz AND a Modulus Flea too if anyone up North wants to try em out (Plus an '01' in my ACG Harlot). Yes I'm a convert Peter

    Firstly the drummer is a she A beautiful bass there Alan, I've always hankered after one but having owned a Bob Glaub and now that my Warmoth is Darkstar'd I think I've got my virtual P sorted. This is a cracking deal and I know how well you look after your gear. Peter
