1. With many thanks to Alan (ACG) from sunny Moffat for some routering and a macasser ebony surround: It all went back together really easily with no problems at all. The 1st thing I noticed that with the low pass filter set fully anti-clockwise there was a much more useable sound without bringing up the threshold gain. It sounds bloomin' lovely, mainly in the way a Darkstar is supposed to sound. Old school? Chuffed and Alan thank you PS I know I've some ironing to do but single bloke, what do you expect! Peter
2. Nice bass and +1 on the Warmoth necks. 2 Darkstars!! Good value too it'd cost a fair bit more than £500 to put this together. Coincidentally I've just put a Darkstar in my Warmoth P this very day Thread with photo to follow: Peter
3. I have a lovely custom bass made by Les Evan's in Liverpool. It was specifically made for Mark (Bassculture) who has very small hands. The neck is the thinest I've ever seen and to put my big hands around the nut end of the neck is amazing The neck is also a 7 piece laminate with a 'V' profile that makes it very stiff and anchors the thumb the the 'right' spot. It's actually one of the basses I've been offering for sale recently too but it seems a very bad time for selling at the moment. It might be well worth a look if anyone has a small hands issue. Peter
4. If the previous 2 pm's don't produce a Cube 30 then I'm interested and in Cumbria. Peter
5. Bumperooney To the top again Peter
6.
What's a "JP copy"?
Jaco Pastorius (it's not)? Jacket Potato?? Jazz/Precision (not that either)? Peter
7. I've just had a reply from the guy. Seems he bought it as a 72 Fender without the neck plate. He ackowledges that he bought the neck plate for it and he says he'll withdraw it. Sounds genuine enough as his feedback would suggest. Peter
8. Hehe, My Warmoth flew here from the States and was then put on the next flight back! It's done more airmiles than I have! I'm looking forward to the review. Peter
9. I would consider trades for this bass, particularly an early 90's NT Thumb 4 or 5 Peter
10.
and the lack of furnishings (and probably people ).
I'll move around a lot
11. Methinks it's nowhere near THAT bad. Peter
12. Yes I agree Dave it CAN be done but for me it'll be a one way trip Peter
13. I'm really glad you have transformed the DD Alan, will you be gigging the beast tomorrow night? Did I mention that Alan (of ACG) is presently routing my Warmoth P for a Darkstar pup? It'll be interesting to see how it compares to the Wizard Thumper that came out but it's a one way trip Peter
14. Cya there Alan, I need a couple a beers! Peter
15. Due to unforseen circumstances this great bass is up for sale again. Peter
16. That's a beautiful looking Warmoth there Nick. I can attest to the really high quality of Warmoth having built one myself and the necks are super stable and very comfy too. Peter
17. Is the shape of the headstock meant to represent something? Peter
18. I've just had my Warmoth P routed to fit in a Darkstar pickup. Not that there was anything wrong with the Wizard Thumper that came out but I'm curious to see what all the Darkstar fuss is about This is a one way trip so I have a really nice Wizard Thumper doing nothing here if anyone wants to make an offer. Peter
19. The exchange rate is right at the mo too. I ordered on the phone and the guys really know what they're about. The neck/body fit on my 54 P/Jazz neck is spot on. Necks (even the jazz) are a little 'clubby' but very playable imo. Peter
20. Extremely nice Peter
21. I suspect that my Avatar bass, the Chris Squire Ric that now has the correct case is valued at £2.2k+ and much the same for my new C64S 4001. But it's immaterial really, if you pardon the pun Peter
22. Sold pending the usual. Peter
23.
I read the topic title as "Felching T-Shirt"...
I am glad it wasn't just me then
24. Congratulations John I hope the Sterling went to a good home An old Warwick could find its way into my heart. There's a Marcus Miller I'd dearly love back but seeing I sold it to a 16 yr old 2 yrs ago I suspect it's been battered a bit Peter
25. Thanks Steve, appreciated Peter
