  1. I bought a brand new Cutlass a couple years ago and it wasn't even properly shielded... I like MM basses but the QC in recent years has been a bit hit and miss for me.
  2. If it were me, I would be looking at a 300w combo, ideally a 1x15 or a 2x10. That way, it covers both practice and gigs. You will get far more value for your money secondhand. If you must purchase new, this Ashdown combo would fit the bill: https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-amps/bass-amp-combos/ashdown-studio-15-bass-combo-300w-1-x-15
  3. This video is very useful for those unsure on how to set up their instrument.
  4. Alter Bridge December 2019 at London O2. Good band but just didn't do it for me live. Similar to Foo Fighters - songs played perfectly but nothing dangerous about them at all.
  5. I think the cryogenic treatment is a gimmick and doesn't really improve the longevity that much. Dean Markley strings sound pretty broken in from the start so if you're after that sort of tone, GHS Boomers or black label Dunlop nickels might be a good alternative.
  6. Sandberg for sure. Absolute steal secondhand.
  7. It has to be the Peavey TNT combo.
  8. You can only play one bass at a time. In nearly 20 years gigging, I've never needed a back up bass (or amp, or pedals).
  9. Secondhand Mark Bass LMII or LMIII. Can you get a bad sound out of those things?
  10. Well mannered Brits is complete rubbish... I can't even remember the last time someone said 'Excuse me' whilst reaching in front of me to grab something off the shelf in a supermarket. Also - squeezing through the smallest gap possible because you can't wait five seconds...
