I bought a Peavey Microbass for £20 off Gumtree! Great little amp.

But you have had to regularly check that the nut isn't coming loose.

There's the problem... Dunlop's require no maintenance bar a squirt of lube once a year.

I'm not after a Fender. I don't care where it's made. Ironically, I did go for a Japanese built bass that I believe is light years ahead of Fender QC - Bacchus.

Dunlop's for me. Schaller had to modify their original design because it was flawed.

Amazing what a piece of silk will do to a TB member.

I.e. The way I do it is best and everyone else is wrong!

The name is a giveaway. Avoid.

Rotobass are Roto nickels without the silk. Exact same string. The owner of the company told me this.

Drop to 40-100 gauge if you like XLs.

Not one to do this usually but I purchased a Bacchus last week from Bass Bros and the service I received was top notch. The process from start to finish was first class and Will even got in touch with me to ask what strings I would like when restringing and doing a set-up. Exactly. One of the best original bands I was in jammed for the first three to four months to come up with ideas. We spent the next couple of months figuring out the song structures before playing our first gig. I remember debuting and a few people came up to us after and asked how many years we had been going!

I find that happens to me all the time. I go to a shop, try a bass out, realise I do not like it but buy it anyway. Oh, wait a minute. 😁
