2.
ESP makes an LTD Vintage (with a "distressed finition", like a "road worn" one) PJ model. I never played it but I read some good reviews on it. You'll find it for less than 400 £ on the Internet.
I'd go for the Sunburst one , I love ESP/ LTD but I heard that these are heavy somewhere I think??
3.
The Darryl Jones 5
Naw, traditional shape is best! Although I hear the JO5's weigh a tonne!! So perhaps the smaller jazz body of the DJ5 improves on that..?
4. I prefer the 55 02 tone wise, I used the same electronics for years. You may not grind but those preamps have great presence on stage, passively brillaint in mix too - chap from Genesis uses a plain black one . On the con side I think they're ugly basses...and not in the good way unfortunately IMO. Oh and Rosewood btw

6. Thats a good price if you love black basses
7. This without the frets and flatwounds would be my ideal bass. Gotta say the singlecut doesn't look great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKFvZDwKRvc...mp;feature=fvwp Would have looked better without any cuts like an acoustic
8. I would be interested in a part exchange for both my G&L Legacy Stratocaster and my ESP PC-2V TOGETHER. I would also be happy to consider part exchange for my Masterbuilt Charvel Star Legacy Bolt (1 of 5).

10. I started on a bass identical to yours, was the best beginner bass for the money around at the time (according to harmony central). Good luck with the sale!
11. Probably my favourite bass tone to date, but what if it were fretless??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K-ruzc0_7E
12. I'd be after this if I lived closer , used to go to UEA
13. Looks a fine bass indee Paul! definately one i'd consider if I switched back from guitar! Hope your still enjoying the lurvely Marleaux!!
14. The main thing I look for when buying a precision is an alder body, these days I think the QC of most guitars is good! But i've owned basswood/sen ash precisions and they just don't do it.
15. Your right, you can get them from Maplins for 50p lol! Look lovely but change those damn strings so it looks tasteful
16.
Lucky for me I don't have the money for this. Mega guitar, good luck with the sale.
Thanks Doctor J , they are serious guitars indeed contrary to the glam-rock graphic lol. Theres something wonderful about making a simple guitar/bass of custom quality and then just slapping some aggressively high output pickups in it - probably why Sadowsky have done so well for themselves This guitar resonates beautifully even without plugging it in! And its like playing air guitar its so light I'm considering Ebay as they're pretty collectable too. German Musik Schmidt Star is the only one left, one was sold from Poole UK and the other three were in the US Music Zoo.
17. That looks awful, are you all thinking of the money to be made if you restore it or something? Sometimes vintage instruments are just a write off for me.
18. I think a Fresh New Thread is needed just to neaten it up . I wish I had the money to collect your Blue and Gold (Steve Harris) paisley basses (although I'd doubt you'd sell the 2nd!), then get the Pink one from Jojo if she still has it - My three-guitar rack would look VERY purdy indeed
19. I like the look of the Red one
