  1. I don't know if ALL the Fender logo JVs were the same but the Fender logo on mine is different to that. They call it the spaghetti logo.
  2. Well, that's worth remembering. Cardiologist can only give advice to other cardiologists Wishing you a speedy recovery! Must have been/continue to be a worry.
  3. Surely you should be asking your cardiologist, not a bunch of bass players?
  4. Collected from where, please?
  5. For me it varies. I do not play, nor have I ever played, in a funk/soul/disco band. So if I remember I will do my soundcheck by embarking upon my 'Disco bass line medley' but generally get no further than the first bar or two of Disco Inferno One time in a rock covers band we supported a Black Sabbath tribute and I did my soundcheck with the start of NIB, mainly because the other guy did and he fluffed it .
  6. The ones I have tried have been fine in terms of wear but that 'plunky pick on flats' sound is greater than with metal flats. Not that it is bad thing, just a bit different.
  7. Interesting point - this has little to no fan noise. For sure whoever buys this is going to be a happy bunny. Just a happy bunny with a stronger back than mine!
  8. Sad to say, I have four others.
  9. Ahem. So... you'll be bidding? Mouse over to zoom - Click to enlarge
  10. G4M had a damaged Boulder Creek 5 string electroacoustic rrp £849.99 listed for ages at £399 and it didn't sell. It has just been relisted for £699. Must be the same as the pics of the damage are the same. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Boulder-Creek-EBR3-5-String-Electro-Acoustic-Bass-DAMAGED-RRP-849-99/303015541921?epid=1905094524&hash=item468d223ca1:g:AKMAAOSw899bf~JL:rk:2:pf:0 I'm not interested in buying it but certainly interested in the thinking behind the huge price hike.
  11. I have tinnitus, fly a lot and, yes, happens very frequently. Always settles down to normal again.
  12. I'll be the first of many - our very own obbm, trading as Rockwire or Bassic Bits.
  13. I'm thinking 'like a bassist, but more so' - a kind of superlative. So perhaps he is happy with 'just' a guitarist, drummer, keyboardist but fancies something a bit special on bass. Could be a typo, of course.
  14. Probably sat in the manufacturers warehouse in China.
  15. The thing is - does it really matter? These topics always seem to degenerate into some wort of 'my gang is better than your gang' type thing. You like a P bass/Stingray/Rickenbacker - great. You don't like them - also great. There is room for all without the mud slinging.
  16. And a Supercompact has just popped up for sale in the classifieds.
  17. Kind of similar thing for me. I spent a lot of money importing a Yamaha BB5000 from Japan, only to not 'bond' with it in any way. Similar story a few years ago with a Westone Pantera Deluxe X790 - first time I saw a picture of one I was smitten. Eventually found one for sale in Holland, happened to be going to Holland so I picked it up. Didn't ever bond with that either. The main issue with both was that they didn't sound like P basses. I've come to terms with this now.
  18. Pre-xmas bump. Edit - i would be up for a trade for an acoustic bass, cash either way, 4 or 5 string.
  19. There, fixed. Two immense talents in a band without the shared vision doesn't often work.
  20. Don't need to - just look in the reflection of that bass. Any Gorgons nearby? Could come in handy.
