  1. I'll add this one, it's mine. It's Independence Day here in the States and I'm waiting for the boys to leave the house so's I CAN CRANK IT UP. But the Friend/landlord/roomate is CLEANING THE BATHROOM AND LISTENING TO CHRISTIAN MUSIC (The bad kind - Elvis). So... The best way to drown out Christian Music, is, Mad Dogs & Englishmen! ("We can't forget the band...")
  2. So....I wanted a Rick SO BAD. But it wasn't gonna happen 'cause I was trading in my Fender Mustang guitar for a Christmas Present which consisted of a Fender Jazz Bass. And tried playing with a pick but it always flew outa my hand so I just DUG IN and TURNED UP the Fender Bassman Amp. And you know what? I found my own sound. And it was ferocious. I play a Chapman Stick these days most of the time, and I can still bring up the Ghost of Chris Squire....
  3. C'mon gigs are harder than children you can tie them up and stuff them in a closet.
  4. I haven't read the last 6 pgs. just started where I left off. I will play my music for exposure. I ain't playing other people's music I never have never will. Just to clarify sorry for any misunderstanding. I mean, I went to school for music and have been cooking professionaly ever since because MY MUSIC HAS NO COMERCIAL POTENTIAL.
  5. And the first mention of heavy metal (41secs.) And the first mention of heavy metal (41secs.)
  6. Well, I don't drink anymore because I'm an alcoholic and it sounds like a lot of fun and the exposure would be great and might bring about some work and I might even enjoy myself and...
  7. The present day composer refuses to die! -Edgard Verese- If I failed to offend anyone, I apologize. -Johannes Brahms-
  8. Why do you think Bruford quit Yes?
  9. I swear the only bass frequencies I can tolerate are my own and that can get scary. So I play w/headphones as not to freak the landlord and etceteras.
  10. Stratus - Billy Cobham
  11. Try Disco Boy Frank Zappa - he changes it every f*cking time. For no reason. It's a stupid song. C'mon, Frank.
  12. You didn't know it was a COVER? Oh never mind
  13. Hi from Jersey (New). More fun than T***Bass.

    Hello!

Welcome...and don't get in to that Thang where "my bass ain't good enough". My frettless bass had frets when I bought it, but also had a sign on it "AS IS" $30 US. No strap buttons, only one pu working, neck is straight and the J pu makes it sound like Jaco All The Time. Best Buy Ever. Oh, I also have $4K Chapman Stick. Whoops......
  15. I assume we are talking about the Stick. I just have too much fun/options with 6 strings in 5ths. The "bass" side in 5ths goes higher than the melody side. It's really something you get used to with the ability to realize lines on either side (or incorporate both) and the graduation of string thickness with timbre (for chord intervals, or it sounding like 3 instruments). I have tried all the different tunings, including 7+5, but I can't give up the 5ths, or the high 6th(12th) string, which I occasionaly tune High 4th (it's an official tuning-but I was messing with it before Greg Howard). I had 5ths tuning on my Pedulla PentaBuzz. Stick Strings. On basses if you're not afraid of truss adjustment and you don't mind tight or loose strings you can try almost anything.
  16. Happy - Pharrell Williams. Learning it on Stick 'cause it popped in my head
  17. Vehicle - Ides of March. - Blood Sweat & Tears, baby...
  18. Nights In White Satin - The Moody Blues
  19. I had to go back to the top of the post to make sure U didn't actually buy that. That be Ugly.
  20. Everyone deserves a Premium Bass. Nothing matters except your delight.
  21. I tune my basses any way I want. When I did have a 5-string, it was usually drop-D w/ a high C. Let's not even get into the 8-string... And of course the Dual Bass Reciprocal 12-string Stick. 5ths/4ths.
  22. It's not how fast they go. It's how fast they get THERE
  23. Yeah yeah they're fun but I'm 63 w/ a bad back. Even in the 80's I was using a Roland pre-amp into a Peavey 400 watt power amp into 2 CerwinVega 2x12s and got as much warmth, and feedback if I wanted, to toast biscuits. Today I'm looking for a nice combo that can keep up w/ a drummer and guitarist that still has his wits about him. And I use a PODX3 for my effects - the amp modeling are antique in that thing and I get great bass tone w/ the AC30 model, it's what you got and how you use it. But get a valve amp, I'm not gonna call the police.
  24. How's the Railboard sound thru it? And is the BC112 a bass cab?
