Hi Richard, I've recently acquired two EUBs and both sound great through a little EBS session 60 combo. Cheap as chips secondhand (about £100 - £120) and plenty loud enough. Loads of great features too.

Tonight, nightmare. Jazzy acoustic duo gig. Me on guitar + singer. The singer asked a drummer she'd met at my New year's Eve party to join us for the night. I warned her but she said it'll be okay. I was right, prize silly billy. Never again. Told me on three occasions that he couldn't gel with my strumming pattern and I'd have to play differently. Then, says he'd like a drum solo in a particularly lively number. No problem, away you go. Singer turns, "On the drums, jean-francois" at which point he shouts, " you need to tell me earlier" gets up from the kit, comes over to me (yes, mid song) and points out that he'll need me to play a chord at the start of each 8. You couldn't make it up. Not sure whether I should be laughing or crying about this. Foot-note, I didn't use the term "silly-billy" when I wrote this.😂

Never had any contact with him and of course, it's sad to hear of anyone's passing but especially, a BC member who was obviously very highly thought of by all those that knew him. RIP, and condolences to his family and friends.

Well, the infamous Dean Pace 5 is now in my possession courtesy of Andy. Really nice guy, easy to deal with and a pleasure to meet. Even made a generous contribution towards the extortionate fee that that nice Mr Ryanair is charging me to throw, or kick it into the hold for an hour or two in order to get it back to France😂 Buy from, or sell to, with complete confidence.

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that at least one member of PMT's staff is a member on BC. Wonder if the news is getting back to to Simon and Terry (assuming of course they still have something to do with the running of it) and if so, what they're now thinking.

Great album. Epic guitar from Michael Schenker. We used to do Lights out as a trio. It was obviously missing quite a bit but stood up due to simply being a great number. Every track a winner on the album.

I take my hand off the neck for various reasons. Thumb cramps up sometimes, ease the arthritic pain in the finger joints, a few times to use a Yo-yo in a particularly long and pointless guitar solo and once, to actually go for a pee whilst continuing to play Let's work together (in A) we were playing in front of the loos and the gents door was right behind me😂

Last night's gig quite strange. Capacity crowd that we kept there right to the end. It's a restaurant/bar that changes to a nightclub at 1.00am. Great place to play, great owner however, he's just sold the business so although everyone was really up for it, it was our last gig there as the new owner won't be having bands there. A privalage to get the final gig of course but mixed emotions.

Followed this thread with interest and was quite "up" for giving these EB cobalts a go however, on Amazon and other sites, there seem to be a more than acceptable number of reported breakages when fitting. Couple this with 65€ for a 5 set and it's a little less attractive😶

And I also remember a version by Bern Elliott and the Fen men.

Weirdest request we ever had (local football club do, back in the UK) was when our drummer was approached, mid-song, from the side and asked if we could do "We are the champions" our drummer issued our usual response in order to get rid of the pest. "Ahh, sorry mate, can't, I know it, but the others don't" "Oh right. Well, okay, can you do it on your own then" ?????

But they're both the same aren't they?😉

Some did come with a cover/rest in that position and that's what I thought may have been there, but as you point out, there should be "ear" marks. I've asked my pal to ask her for some good quality pics from all angles. If they arrive, I'll stick some up, mainly out of interest really. Thanks for the input.
