On guitar, Green onions, on bass, How long (Ace)
-
As the total opposite of the last gig, last night I got to play with probably the best drummer I've ever met. Timing to die for, total empathy for the song and complete awareness of what everyone else is playing. Bass, drums, sax and guitar. Loved playing with three people who aren't tied to a structure if the mood dictates taking the number elsewhere. Probably the now hold the world record for the longest ever version of Put it where you want it😂

That's Goldfinger!!! Stop getting Bond wrong😂
-
His name was, Dr Julius No and whilst he carried out most of his world domination work from his fortified stronghold in the Caribbean, his actual home address was 27, Tenby Avenue, Walthamstow, London E17 which coincidentally, is also on a bungalow estate.
-
I put it you, that you indeed do possess a box containing this very game, secreted in a cupboard under your stairs, and don't even attempt to deny it by spinning the old "bungalow" story. We've heard that one too often.

But apparently missed, as I spotted him "down Mexico way" a few days later.

Does anyone on B.C know who did actually shoot the deputy?

50th Birthday and £500 max spend.. Sire MM?
leschirons replied to Chrisbassboy5's topic in General Discussion
Yes yes yes, these replies and suggestions are all very interesting blah de blah de blah, but at no point has ANYONE (including the OP) actually considered whether his wife actually wants, or needs, a bass guitar for her birthday -
Hi Richard, I've recently acquired two EUBs and both sound great through a little EBS session 60 combo. Cheap as chips secondhand (about £100 - £120) and plenty loud enough. Loads of great features too.

Sorry to hear this Daryl. Something will turn up. You have a professional and dedicated attitude that wont go unnoticed I'm sure.

Tonight, nightmare. Jazzy acoustic duo gig. Me on guitar + singer. The singer asked a drummer she'd met at my New year's Eve party to join us for the night. I warned her but she said it'll be okay. I was right, prize silly billy. Never again. Told me on three occasions that he couldn't gel with my strumming pattern and I'd have to play differently. Then, says he'd like a drum solo in a particularly lively number. No problem, away you go. Singer turns, "On the drums, jean-francois" at which point he shouts, " you need to tell me earlier" gets up from the kit, comes over to me (yes, mid song) and points out that he'll need me to play a chord at the start of each 8. You couldn't make it up. Not sure whether I should be laughing or crying about this. Foot-note, I didn't use the term "silly-billy" when I wrote this.😂

Never had any contact with him and of course, it's sad to hear of anyone's passing but especially, a BC member who was obviously very highly thought of by all those that knew him. RIP, and condolences to his family and friends.

Well, the infamous Dean Pace 5 is now in my possession courtesy of Andy. Really nice guy, easy to deal with and a pleasure to meet. Even made a generous contribution towards the extortionate fee that that nice Mr Ryanair is charging me to throw, or kick it into the hold for an hour or two in order to get it back to France😂 Buy from, or sell to, with complete confidence.

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that at least one member of PMT's staff is a member on BC. Wonder if the news is getting back to to Simon and Terry (assuming of course they still have something to do with the running of it) and if so, what they're now thinking.

UFO/Strangers In The Night (and in general).

Great album. Epic guitar from Michael Schenker. We used to do Lights out as a trio. It was obviously missing quite a bit but stood up due to simply being a great number. Every track a winner on the album. -

I did, but he was driving home for Christmas at the time and didn't have hands free so couldn't talk. -
Songs that should be easy but are deceptively tricky

Son of a preacher man by Dusty. Not easy to hear what's happening and when you do hear it, it's bloody mind-blowing how many notes are being played yet, they all sort of sound necessary. -

I've had two speeding fines in France listening to the same album. Tony MacAlpine's Maximum security. I've been in touch with him regarding compensation but as yet, have had no reply. -

Sadly not, I had to pee with my left hand. Not easy when you're right handed, and in case you're wondering, I washed my hand(s) at the next break😂 -

I take my hand off the neck for various reasons. Thumb cramps up sometimes, ease the arthritic pain in the finger joints, a few times to use a Yo-yo in a particularly long and pointless guitar solo and once, to actually go for a pee whilst continuing to play Let's work together (in A) we were playing in front of the loos and the gents door was right behind me😂 -
Great pic. Was that The 100 club gig? No, sorry, that's Tuesday coming.
