  1. I had this same head (but in the CXC 2x12 version) Tremendous piece of kit. Bought it at the Bass Centre in Wapping. Ultra reliable and ridiculously loud for 300w. I gigged it all over France for years without a hitch. This is a no-brainer for £75
  2. Steeleye span, last night at the Apex in Bury st Edmunds. Numbers from the latest album except a couple of obvious ones. Seriously good level of musicianship with a few numbers really venturing into Prog-Rock territory. Not sure I heard one bar of music with 4 or 8 beats in it😆. Some very complicated structures going on. Maddy Prior is now 78 but doesn't sound any different from 50 years ago and the five part harmonies were perfect and excellent bass playing from Roger Carey. All in all, a very good gig.
  3. Hi Rich, you still looking? If it's the same size as the CV Jazz one, I can post it off to you.
  4. As above neck pup cover. no screws. £5 collected or £7 posted to UK.
  5. Bought these on BC for a project but never used them. Unbranded, but from memory, out of a Cort. Jazz 100mm x 17mm MM 105mm x 48mm Pick up from Ashill Norfolk or posted to UK for extra £3 Plenty of wire, both in excellent cond.
  6. Recently joined a band (second rehearsal tomorrow) and it's looking like they might want to take on a few pub gigs to just hone the set and performance so,.. Bought a pub cheapy for the usual reasons. I picked up a Classic Vibe Jazz 5 locally. The guy had bought it 6 months previous so I wasn't expecting much with him moving it on that quickly but it still had all the plastic on it. I've also got the original packaging with his name and address on. It stands me in £175 + new strings. Wow, that neck and fret board. Frets perfectly finished, no sharp edges, love the gloss feel, in fact, it reminds me of the 5 string Elite I sold here a couple of years ago. Great sound through my Shuttle 6.0. Plays like a dream with the LaBella low tension flats on. The only down side is, it's on the heavy side but as their set list appears to be just 20 numbers, I won't be standing on a stage for 3 hours. I think these things are only about £300 or so new. Can't believe it for the money.
  7. This really doesn't sound like a band I'd want to be in with all this going on. If people can't be up front with each other, it's a non starter.
  8. Live in L.A. by the Rippingtons. Kim Stone on bass. Fabulous playing.
  9. D'Addario chromes, flatwound ECB81-5 string set. Cut for 34" four over one. Been on 20 mins. Another expensive exercise. After paying £72 for LaBellas, I thought these are worth a go for £59 Not for me. Put them on, plugged it in, played the intro to Midnight at the Oasis, took them off. 2mm of silk removed from the B and E due to saddle position but sealed with a dab of super glue to stop any unwinding. £25 inc postage to mainland UK
  10. Recently took both sets off basses and have no need for them so, if anyone is finding things a bit tight, or is sorting out a project bass, here's a couple of sets going free. I just stuck £2 in as the price to cover a bit of the postage. I'll pay the rest if it's a UK mainland address. They're rounds, and both cut for four over one, 34" long scale. One set are 40-130 G-B The other set are (I think) 30- 105 C-E You won't be able to use on a four string unless it's a three over one. Looks like there's plenty of life in them so might do someone a turn. No idea of makes.

  11. However, according t'tinternet, he plays guitar, keyboards and drums. Hmmm🤔
  12. Good point. At my age, I shouldn't do adverts at cocoa time😅
  13. 5 string set of DR Dragon skins. Fitted for a week, then back in box. Played for about 2 hours. Cut for a 34" four over one. £18 inc postage to mainland UK
  14. As above nearly new, La Bella white nylons. 5 string set. Extra long (35" scale) cut for four over one headstock. Been on a bass for two weeks and probably played for 15 mins. Cost £76. So, £45 inc post to a UK mainland address.

  15. Rory bought my EBS session and ended up waiting over two weeks for the Xpress 48Hr delivery. A very nice, and very patient chap. Great comms, fast payment. Perfect BCer.
  16. I was in a party/ function band in the 90s for about eight years. We had quite a few Police numbers under our belt and one night the vocalist, during introductions shouted ..and on bass, Spam. And so, I became Spam.
  17. Me too, both parcels had unbreakable Gorilla tape handles that wrap right round a couple of times. I even write "Handle" on the handle😅
  18. Well, if anyone on here happens to come across this bass at a gig, can you have a peek at the backline to see if they're also using my missing EBS combo. Thanks
  19. Just bought another bass so this has to go now. Plays fab, sounds great, low action, working truss rod, active/passive, straplocks, Hipshot ultralites and Omega high mass bridge which allows string spacing options. These were just over £600 new so £295 seems very fair. Can't find a mark or ding on it. Pretty much mint. Happy to post, I have a carton. Guessing about £15. Or, come and try it out, tea and cake included. Will have new round-wounds fitted.

  20. We lived in France for 17 years and never had a problem with La Poste. Great compared to the cowboys we have to use here. I guess that's a geographical issue though. We were in the Limousin, an agricole heavy region so probably far less problems than in the big cities. Our french postie used to fetch and drop off medical prescriptions, collect an elderly neighbour's shopping and even stopped and changed a wheel for my wife.
  21. P.bass now delivered and apparently in one piece. Buyer happy. That's the important bit. Now on hold to Royal mail to see if they can confirm the combo is actually where they say it is (and has been for 10 days) No doubt I'll be cut off before they answer.
  22. I sold a P bass to Adrian. Very prompt payment and when things went absolutely pear shaped courtesy of Parcelforce, he was most understanding and patient whilst I sorted things out. Nice friendly BCer.
