Bit daft really as a month ago I was considering packing up playing altogether and getting rid of the lot🥴

Just given it a two hour work out playing along to a load of smooth groove backing trax. It's really warm and well rounded. The carpal tunnel op has really helped although it was probably a little too soon to start playing again after three weeks.

A classic. 100%

Squire P bass, couple of bridges, straps, leads, 2 old but working SM58s, a mex Strat, a 5 watt valve head and a 2x12 Celestion loaded Laney guitar cab.

A very early (judging by the serial number) Roland Cube bass 60. Made in Japan. Think this is from first production year as the serial is only 4 digits long out of eight. All works, and I can't believe how great it sounds. Even handles the low B on my EUB 5 string. It's not light and it's been seriously gigged but the original tolex is in fabulous condition for what must be 45 years old. Not sure , but I assume it's the original 12" in there. Sounds incredible.

The OP hasn't actually mentioned that the band are against the idea of another member. Just a thought. I've been in this three instrument line up many times. Tips. 1) Pick the right songs. ie, ones that suit the line up. 2) Find the right guitarist who's prepared to put the song before the ego. (Not suggesting yours is like that) 3) Get in a 2nd guitar or keys. 4) Do your own arrangements to suit your line up. Last band I played with in this format was brilliant. Mainly down to the guitarist's attitude and willingness to experiment until it worked. Probably the best guy I've ever played with in that situation. One occasional problem was the lack of particular chord changes behind a solo that would normally make the solo work however, the bass can imply those chord changes albeit not replace them.

Although you can slice a tomato or hard boiled egg whilst passing it to the person opposite.

My Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 12T combo + ext cab. Light, loud, reliable, compact, does any gig, even EUB 5 string. Probably worth bugger all nowadays but it'll see me out.

I do love a sitting gig at my age. Lovely little jazz club in SW France near where we used to live. Went down great. Percussionist couldn't make tonights gig but still worked well. Well paid, but I would have done tonights and last nights shows for nothing as the sax/keys player is gravely ill and it was simply an honour to have been asked to provide the low end on what may well be one of his last gigs.

Just seen this ad on FB. It's advertising the world's most spectacular Taylor Swift tribute show or rather, the auditions for a "Taylor" which appears to be the bit they're actually missing in the lineup. Sort of reminds me of those "Do you want to join my Queen tribute act? Looking for a Freddie, a Brian, a Roger and a John"🤣

Yes Douglas Printemps Bourges. Loved it, excellent gigs but tiring and the parking was a nightmare. We always played in Birdland (pub) Must have been a trek for you. You're Brittany aren't you?

In France we did a huge week long festival in Bourges three years running. About 150 bands over the week in approx 50 venues. The venue we played wanted six, 20 min sets with a short break in between each. The owner wanted, punter in, buy a couple of drinks, punter out, next one in. He told us, last thing he wanted was someone sitting there with an empty glass for two hours listening to the band. One corporate gig I did (trio, in a huge chateau reception area) was to play whilst guests were arriving. Played for 30 mins (6 numbers) Got 400€ each and not one person even looked at us let alone listened🤣

Thanks everyone. Most appreciated. I'm taking a little EBS session combo and a cheapie bass over and it'll be with me all the time so, hopefully no probs then. I could have borrowed a bass but not in the area I'm playing so that would have complicated matters. Thanks again.

Have a couple of unpaid gigs in France coming up. Seem to getting all sorts of conflicting info on official websites about what you can do and if taxes are chargeable and if you need documentation. Any advice based on actual recent experience appreciated.
