1. Interesting. You've got a very good budget just for effects alone. I used to have an Eden combo.loved it, very clean, modern and powerful. With multi fx , the thing I'd look for is ease of use. What I cannot understand tho' , is that there are so many with 'virtual 'amp settings of all the big makes. Why have them, when you have an Eden? Depending on your band , maybe it's best to go for something like single boss effects , or the me50b which you can get on here cheap. Lots of people on here like the zoom b9 or whatever. Then again, there is line 6 . Over to other basschatters...
2. Good stuff, but there's no smile in the band . In one pic, you look like you're gonna tell Mr.guitar off;) sorry only Imho
3. Nice post . Think I'll have a look. 😉 regarding recording, what do you use?
4. Charnel and Kramer from the '80s . I remember my guitar god friend , used these before he got an ibanez Jem.The old wash burns were great also apparently ( and not very expensive). Dean guitars are quite decent apparently . The dimebag ones are good for metal
5. Nice bass! Love the colour .
6. Bump for nice bass .
7. Of course . Now I'm wondering whether I've got too many of the boxes. Micro rack series now consists of : compressor limiter ( rcl-10) Digital delay( rdd-10) Phaser (rps-10) Flanger ( rbf-10)! Overdrive distortion( rod-10) Digital reverb( Rrv-10) Digital chorus ensemble ( rce-10) Pitch shifter delay (rps-10) Power supply (rpw-7) 2 delays ? Mmm.. Apparently, the power supply should be able to power them all?? Then I've got to work out what order to put them in. ( or have I?)!
8. I used to play it with no effects. Just an active bass
9. Cool playing download?! Ambition achieved . Don't forget to do the dog and duck as your warmup gig;)
10. Interesting observation/rant;) This thread could be a long one . From time to time, I think we all wonder. From my perspective; used to love listening to radio 1 in late '60s /early'70s. From the age of 4- 11. Led zep / sabbath were regarded as heavy(along with very soft bands)and got hardly any radio play. I skipped school a lot and listened to my brother/sisters hippy collection. Hawkwind, groundhog s atomic rooster budgie etc. The '70s were great. '79 got into nwobhm, saw loads of bands. You know who they are;) Mid '80s..thank god for thrash! Metallica were/are relevant for a whole lot. Death metal, good to listen to , but comical . King diamond musician ship superb . Now rammstein are best ever band IMHO . I love ambient stuff as well. So now? I listen to a Canadian rock station ( billy talent, headstones, shine down offspring etc). Would never go see them, but they sound good . I'm the s ame age as op.' My issue with rock bands now, all tattoos, all the same no substance or longevity.( sound like my dad). Hair metal is now hairless. I'm bored of it myself. As for playing live, it depends on your location as to who watches what IMHO . Classic rock will always be in. Regrets about old days; wearing bike jacket with the British steel razor on my back melting in the son.
11. ..and a compromise has been met. £85! I guess , having no council tax payment this month, should soften the blow .
12. I made a bid for the bmr5 , for £63. This was rejected , the seller will accept £90. I have made a counter offer of £80 . Got a feeling, that this bid will be rejected also.
13. I had the v amp pro. Instructions were rubbish . Not much for bass , and tbh there are a lot of better things . Line 6 for example. IMHO of course;)
14. Are those boss micro recorders any good? I just wanna plug bass/app / looper into it and off I go, saying bye bye to glitchy GarageBand .
15. Had a bit of time to kill yesterday, between 2 hospital appointments. Ended up in Denmark St . Saw a white Washburn status in the window. ( I already have a de activated wine colour one). Thankfully, it was a smidgen overpriced at£495 Guess I'm cured;) i was even thinking of exchanging my steinberger for it. I have seen the light
16. Good price Rob. Shouldn't be around long .have a bump;)
17.
I wouldn't bother with the plastic rack. If they are staying at home you should try to find a BMR-5: http://www.bossarea.com/other/bmr5.asp I think the Chorus, Phaser, OD and Flanger are all analogue so will sound great! They delays are most certainly digital. From what I remember the micro series had more options than the Boss compacts, but the circuits were very similar.
The br5;) that's the one I meant(sorry).
18. Sounds are very good. Some of the effects are digital . The distortion/fuzz is very versatile , and although not a strictly bass effect sounds great. I would imagine that these are pretty much the same as the foot pedal versions ( never had many boss foot pedals tbh).. A friend has just emailed me the empty rack that appeared on eBay . I can't afford £100 right now, so cannot justify paying for a bit of plastic.:
19. Looks a bit overkill .also upside down
20. Well, here's a pic;) now I'm thinking of getting something basic to record some stuff. I get slightly irritated thinking of the computer route . I was thinking of getting a small 4 channel micro mixer, and just recording it on a basic hardware system .
21. Looks very cool! Now get a cassette deck;)
