1. Well, they are perfect for travelling on public transport. Also, in small pubs etc. Very handy indeed.
2. Yeah, the Xm-3 is quite heavy for a headless . Amazing. Really. Back in the '9os , headless basses were unpopular . Still are according to the basses you hate post on here I wonder what the lightest 'quality ! Headless basses are? ( sorry , not hohner ) Btw; I recently looked at a few you tube clips on chapman stick. Looks hard . Doesn't look good for metal . If I learned how to play one ,somehow IMHO it doesn't look as cool as an ordinary bass or even guitar so couldn't see me gigging with one unless I was in a largish band .
3. Thanks Andy Believe it or not , that sampler I have , is still popular on eBay and I almost bought another one.I'm going to buy that one I mentioned earlier today ( card not sampler). Annoyingly 2 weeks before payday;( I did a little demo on sound cloud last night , so what I may do is sell this one , and try to get the latest version that won't need a stupid sound card
4. Oops! Meant the Boss SP-202 I've just seen a 2 Mb /5 volt card on eBay (£4.00 + £3.75 postage ! ) Cough , splutter. He wanted £45+ postage, but I offered £37.50 . Looks like I'll buy it later. These things are like gold dust
5. I like the look of these. Expensive toy?
6.
Just reading this and quirtly laughing to my self, back in the day, long before the serious tech we have today i used to use something called a watkins copycat. It was basically a echo effect , a small box with two reel spools and a tape loop... You coukd record and loop but where it got creative was when you used the extremes or accidentally put a loop tape on backwards or cut and spilced them..... Haha fetch me a lava lamp and half a pound of the stinky stuff Would love a go of one now for old times sake ! http://youtu.be/mT97T3Ks0Rg
I enjoyed that. Now, Roland space echo. Are they as good , or better than a delay pedal ?
7. Is there a reason anyone would want an Internet radio? Philips have just released one , with access to more than 30,000 Internet stations . Costs approx £120. They seem so expensive too. Please could somebody explain ?
8. Forgot to mention , I do not like the hofner Beatles bass. Ugh!
9. It's a bit like footballers , with some of the worst hairstyles ever;) They get away with it, because they're footballers Football managers on the other hand..
10. Headless..gold hardware& yellow .
11. Has anyone mentioned not liking yellow basses yet? Next to my headless basses, my collection is pretty pony to most on this thread:(
12.
That is what I would refer to as a "Turd on a stick".
Is that not posh spice ?
13. Oops ! Thought I was on the Adam Johnson website . Got confused.
14. 15w is a bit low t b h . Maybe good for bass whisperer impressions Depends on crowd size/ acoustic etc. I would imagine you'd be better going for something in the£200 bracket , if you're not in a hurry to upgrade . You may get a bargain on here. Eastwood, jack Cassidy used , epiphone and another popular one that has escaped my mind at the moment. You could do a you pube search under Hollowbody bass ?
15. Ac/dc highway to hell Play that funky music We did song2 as an encore , and a fan jumped on top of me . The guitarist was shouting at me telling me not to scratch his guitar , but I obviously couldn't help it never dropped a note . Great gig .
16. Forgot about hawk wind rainbow theatre, sonic attack tour. Best time I saw them .loud and sonic;) I was at the Rollins / r h c p gig at Brixton,. Didn't notice the loudness so to speak. What I do remember is Henry shouting at an imaginary crowd member" if you think you're so tough.. " etc. Pretty boring . Oh, nearly forgot Motörhead at donington 1986? Apparently could be heard 10 miles away, according to people we met on the way home next day. Sunn . Haven't heard of them . May check them out on you pube .
17. Yeah. I was gonna suggest a DVD, but Scott's the man .
18. So today for the first time in ages, I picked up the above and had a. Blast for over an hour . Haven't touched my basses for ages, due to myasthenia making me lethargic and lazy. I need to get a long strap with lace to wear it properly etc. It felt awkward at first tbh,but after about 20 mins I was getting some sort of fluidity. The initial pain I had was disappearing. What I did notice tho' , is the action is completely out. It looks a bi fiddly to adjust , so I'll leave it to the expert to sort out. What I wondering tho', is what type of strings are best for it? I've tried round wound/ flat wound . Haven't chose nylon yet. I'm after very light strings . Anyone got a similar bass, and could give advice ? Was thinking about offloading and getting something smaller, but I love the yellow;) Cheers
19. Thought it was rod hull and emu for a minute .
