Daisy Rock Bass !!
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to madshadows's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
The seller is jean luc pickguard a basschatter. He hasn't been on here for ages tho' -
Glad you enjoyed it. When I was a kid, I used to love Hocus and Sylvia . However, I bought the live at the rainbow album many years ago. Hocus pocus with flute solo?? Wtf . It was soon gone . Not rock (

Fool for your Loving - Whitesnake - Help
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to steantval's topic in General Discussion
I remember when, in my last band Mr.Drums suggested we play it? Couldn't quite grasp it on a 4 string, but it somehow sounded proper on a 5. Never got past rehearsal stage tho' . -
Judging by the gigging situation you are in , I would say you would need around 250 watts.(you won't turn up to the max , but you'll always have power in reserve). Because of the budget, I would say something like gallien krueger. Light and loud
I love St Anger... Seriously. One day, it will be understood.
Far better than reload. The question that will always hang over this album; why did lars insist on recording the drums in the kitchen with frying pans?

I think when Jason left/got the boot, the alarm bells ring for the first time. They got their a@ses kicked, and didn't realise how arrogant they had become. Wake up call. They should have had more respect for him .

Other things to note ; good to see metallica celebrate 30 years by inviting all their idols/ influences onto the stage and play with them. In that instance, metallica never forgot where they came from. Who would've thought they'd get that far..even in the puppets days. Then we have Lulu. WTF?? And of course we have protools. Cut and pace riffs anyone ? Kirk is an awesome guitarist, but he shouldn't really solo imho. Cliff was the most talented . Jason was great. Robert is amazing. The next fashion for all artists is books&films. It's not just metallica that are guilty of this.

Bandmates 'weathering' a P Bass
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to elom's topic in General Discussion
Haven't got flash player on my ipad, so I don't know anything about this thread ( -
Bass centre now at Bagshot ?!? Good to see they're still going. They don't seem to stock many basses, unless I've missed something. I was at the Billy Sheehan bass clinic that is mentioned on the website . Back in the days when I had hair

I would imagine this will probably sell for around a grand, due to nimber of bidders and time left. If you bid for it, I hope you get a good deal if you win

Cutting back to only one bass?
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to Fionn's topic in General Discussion
You could sell the warwick, and buy the fretted broter(or sister) to the aria .that way , you have best bass for all situations . -
Prefer playing guitar unless in a band?
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to Greggo's topic in General Discussion
Love playing bass, but it's a limited instrument imho. Even when recording stuff at home, I feel the guitar is missing. I'm worse than crap on guitar, but I intend to buy a cheap one and try and learn a few licks to put in future recordings. If I was in a band again , it would always be bass for me. -
Multi effects have moved on but......
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to Pbassred's topic in Effects
I'd go for seperate pedals. Reverb, delay , flanger, phaser etc. so many . Or you could go for something like a boss me50 b , which is less complicated than a lot of multi fx. Whatever way you go, have fun -
Boss micro rack series
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Effects
It's been awhile since I started this thread. I now have added distortion and flanger to the setup. Just missed out on the phaser, which seems rarest . Didnt fancy paying£100 +postage for it. However, if it comes around again , I'll grab it. I sold my boss me 50b a couple of weeks ago. Still have the me 8 b multi fx which has octave and synth. Think that will do effects wise -
Probably this
I wonder how many Basschatters have never actually seen a cassette tape in the flesh, so to speak?
God, I remember that;) at one time the price of a cassette tape went up by 30p or similar because of this. Didnt make much difference.

You could tune b e a d . If you want to keep it permanent , just adjust truss rod and replace nut .
Our cat Marshall - coincidentally as big, black and heavy as a Marshall cab - just wandered into my music room to inform me it was biscuit time, and started into my BF midget with his claws. Little git! Fortunately he went for the paint finish rather than the silver grille cloth, so no visible damage was done. I have warned him that I could do with a pair of furry slippers. Actually the best way to keep him away is to play bass - low frequencies send him running for cover behind the sofa. Here is a picture of him in a stupid-looking pose. He is dim but loveable - provided he keeps his claws off my kit!
Nice cat

I still haven't read ll of this thread . I think frank gambale has a valid point. briefly, I will probably join spotify premium. This will probably introduce me to bands I k ow not enough of. My cd catalogue is not expanding as it was in the 80s. I need newer artists to listen to , so spotify could be the answer. If I really like something , it will be purchased on cd. Hopefully, CD players will continue he to be made. We, the public have been ripped to shreds by the record companies in the past. Vinyl, tape , cd , mp3. One format was never enough for the greedy bar stewards. CDs £16 in the &0s !! I think spotify should pay more obviously . Maybe they should charge £12 . ? Will spotify and the others. Be forced to close down? Music is cheaper now thane ever before. The artists do deserve more too. I'll leave it there

Victor Wooton Ain't So Great
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to Lowender's topic in General Discussion
Manring is good. He has one annoying habit tho'-he doesn't sit still. He keeps twisting the tuning pegs all of the time . I feel like I should tell him to stop it .. It's in tune! Just play it . -
