1.
A stroke of genius there. wish I'd thought of that. Do you use 5 string strings and throw the G out? Do the pups respond ok?
It's the same principle exactly . I haven't got a B string(see my other thread). Sound is the same. As the Steinbergers neck is graphite there is little risk of neck problem. However, If you were to try the same thing on an ordinary bass, I would suggest you take it to a tech and have truss rod adjusted and a new nut put on .
2. Cool basses;) (tho' the green looks a bit better)
3. I've got it . Awesome.ipad version
4. Back in the '90s I got disillusioned and quit bands for about 7 years. It was only back in 2012, or thereabouts that I started again. Despite playing root notes and relying on Mr.Guitar I was good as an intermediate player. When I started the band thing again , I had to up my game quite a bit. Now I can find out how to play some songs by ear and I am pleasantly surprised by this. I use both fingers and pick. I don't really bother with slap, and spent too much time being messy at it. I don't drive , which is /was a problem. The scene where I am is stale and I don't want to play in front of one man and his dog ,after the practice I used to put in. Having said that, it is an outlet I do miss as my life is boring and stale at the moment. I would like to just jam with others in rehearsal rooms(similar to band practice) but I am worried that I'm not good enough to do it. Being 50 and less tolerant of a@@ holes is not good either. Back to the op ; my suggestion is to take a break and see if you miss it .
5. This was mine. Only traded because I needed something smaller and I'm not gigging anymore. Best rig I ever had. Shame not many people seem to know about Aguilar . Have a bump
6. That's a fantastic bass. Good call for originality
7. Small rehearsal rooms, narrow walkways , clumsy drummers and playing by the toilets in pubs have caused 1or2 bumps.oh, and the low ceilings...
8. Sold a schecter 5 string recently . Loved it , but seeing I had too many basses and it was the only 5 er, it had to go.Since then, I started tuning my steinberger bass to B-E-A-D. Quite like it so far. Amazing how little I use the G playing rock covers . In hindsight, I wish I was playing this way years ago.
9. Thanks paul. I suppose if I have an ipad, it shouldn't matter.
10. Thanks for that. If it was a normal bass, I would take it to a tech and get truss rod adjusted and a new nut installed. But, it's a steinberger, so I'll probably leave it as is.
11. I've asked a lot of questions today;) Myac mini won't progress further . Please advise if you can. Cheers
12. I have been using my Steinberger xm2 to drop tune to BEAD. I've had a quick noodle here and there, and am very happy with the setup. Apparently, due to the way the Bergers necks are made the tuning this way is not a problem. Question ; would a proper low B string fit in my bass? If so, would it make much of a difference to the way it's setup now? That's 2 questions . Oh well ..
13. Niiice. Baaassss Shame you're not into Tele basses
