8 ohms. Your internal speakers in the combo are 8 ohms, so to get your full power out of the amp you need 4 ohms, that means you need a 8 ohm cab to add to your 8 ohm combo load. 8+8 divided by 4 = 4ohms.

It will more than likely be a 300w at 8 ohms cab, as most of Traces early ones were like that. As I remember you would use a 250 head with 2 cabs and a 500w head with 4 cabs a la Mark King. So it's probably only 300w. Hope that helps you. P.S. your avatar is cool.

I recommend buying a Precision, a Squier would be ok, I got mine for £100, 1995 model + a £40 gig bag thrown in. New bone nut, EMG's, new Gotoh bridge, stoned the frets myself and set it up with DR strings, £230 all in and a brilliant precision was born. Sounds the biz, Stranglers, Pink Floyd, Bruce Thomas, Mr Jamerson, its all there.
