1.
Thanks! Yes, too long ... 8 years already! Used to live few years in Amsterdam before. That was a laugh! Cheers, ervert
I lived in Amsterdam for a week and that was lots of fun.
2.
Just thought I'd drop by and say Hello. I've been playing bass for nearly 25 years on and off and have recently got together with a few like-minded friends to re-live our youth before we get too much older. Like a lot of people on here, I've probably owned more basses than I care to remember (and have probably lost a small fortune in letting them slip through my fingers!) Anyway, nice to meet you all Bill
Hi Bill look forward to hearing from you. Your story is very similar to mine, two old farts who should know better.
3.
Thanks Paul. That record was done with Jon Withnall at Parr St studios, and was a great laugh. The producer was ace, the engineer was ace, and the band leader is/was my best mate!!! All the kit and bass was done together in a very large, beautiful, wooden room... I could wax lyrical about how it was easily in the top three sessions I have done (and I've had some real fun sessions!!!) Dan
Hi Dan. I know what you mean about beautiful rooms and tons of Cornish stone, Parr is an amazing place. Your music reminds me of Prefab Sprout, Velvets, and the next big thing to come out of Liverpool. By this I mean, all your sounds are in place, pick your producer carefully and stay true to your art.
4. Black Cherry tort, mmmmmmmm. Looks sensational.
5.
This is the second time in as many weeks that a new member of the forum has been given a less than warm welcome. Also, lecturing someone for not posting in the introduce yourself forum when you haven't done so yourself is somewhat hypocritical.
Hi Bassbloke, socialism tempered with capitalism tempered with free will is the way to go. Also the internet allows users to come and go as they please. Incognito, up front or anywhere in between, you know what I mean. It seems that you like to keep your ID secret too.
6. That's peacock feathers stroking the woman you love, as opposed to DA-DV.
7. MB1. My thoughts too, and they werent even interested in what he was selling!, no need!
I be one of dem yokels. You quoted home of deep discussion, are we not discussing? If the guy has been made to feel unwelcome, then I for one am sorry. BTW, I wear a parka with 2 hoods. This is a local bass site for local bassists, we'll have no trouble here.
8.
The 210 is now also for sale and the prices have dropped as I need to pay for my new cabs!
Hi dangee just what I'm looking for. Could you PM a price for the head as well if you are considering selling that? I'm seriously thinking about getting one of Robbie's Thunderfunks but a Markbass is also on the list. I'd be interested in the whole rig if the price was good but I'd have to take into account the price of the petrol for a round trip to Chelmsford from Birkenhead. Cheers Steve.
9. There is no such thing as a bargain. What goes around, comes around.
10.
I remember when they were reviewed in Bass Player, drool worthy or what, seriously a very nice instrument and don't let go of it! Thanks for some nice pics too!
Agreed. Ed Straker! What a legend Ed Bishop is.

12. I think I've just blurted my sauce. They are STUNNING. Have a tea time lefty bump.
13.
Just what my wife said last night
That's not what she told me the night before.
14. Well what do you think? If this forum was to be the place for people with bass gear to drop in and get rid of some stuff, surely it would resemble Loot. But it's not. This is a forum for people who play or have an interest in the bass guitar, double bass or hybrids of these instruments. A bit of common courtesy to say hello would make a lot of difference. At least introduce yourself and say hello.
15. Hi Funky where abouts in the West Midlands do you live? Is it still for sale?
16. Chris Squire dosen't sound like that at all. Listen to Roundabout and what your're hearing on the track is a double tracked guitar overlayed. On all of his bass sounds is a good bit of classic Neve mixing desk as well as a large portion of FX.
17. Love the inscription on the truss rod cover, "made in Taiwan" can we see some photos of the bass front and back you arty so and so you .
18. Sorry Alan. For some reason Paul came into my head.
19. Back in 1986 I really wanted a Status Series 2 bass but back then Rob Green didn't build them in left hand. At the same time a local builder by the name of Keith Bennoin had opened his workshop in the centre of Birkenhead. Intrigued by all the unusual (well to my young eyes) guitars he had in the shop, I went in and over a few visits told him what I wanted. He wasn't familiar with Status and as no plans for the bass where available he calculated its size and shape from photos and a reference of its only known dimension, its scale length. I paid him £25 each Friday afternoon after being paid from work and witnessed each week the bass evolving. Hand measurements were taken to make the neck perfect and other tricks and finally after almost a year. my KGB Headless 4 string was ready. Equiped with EMG pickups, Kent Armstrong active tone controls and ABM hardware, it has been a flawless performer, on the road and in the studio, many producers have said it's the best bass they had ever recorded. So there you have my experience of KGB Music guitars. Oh by the way I went on later to train with Keith for 4 years as a repairer and custom builder and can tell you it was one of the most rewarding experience of my life. Cheers Keith thanks for all your knoweledge and wisdom.
20.
Mmm, shiny. Very nice work, but needs more strings.
Dave said that because his own ACG has 5 strings. No big argument ment.
21. Bump. Combo and cab for £550. Thats 575w into a 4x8" cab and a 1x15" cab inside the combo. Very versatile set up. Collection prefered. I will meet half way within a resonable distance. You need to come and try it before you buy it. Will consider trades.
