1. Walked off the front of the stage in a pea-souper of dry ice..... 4 foot drop. How about that for a clanger.
2. I used to use a fridge with an SVT, but we used a tour bus, had 2 roadies, and a big rehearsal room with a big lock-up, BIG BIG BIG. They are a bast**d to move anywhere, especially up staircases. At the end of the day they look dead cool and sound great but as Dood says there are lighter and better solutions to be investigated. 30+ years ago it would have been a no brainer.
3. So the guy is not a custom maker, as he no longer takes orders. Being a lefty, the chances of ever owning one of these beauties is very slim.
4. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I'm just waiting for the 6 string MM pups to arrive and then mine can be finished.
5. Black P basses, JJ Burnel, Roger Waters, Phil Lynot and hopefully me one day. I used to play my bass unplugged with the headstock pressed against a hollow door.
6. There I was minding my own business, got a shi££y cold and feeling sorry for myself, been to Screw Fix to buy some tools to make a scratchplate (tort lefty precision) let the chinchilla out for his nightly rampage of carnage then on to Baschat for a little look, thinking there won't be anything to gas over. Thanks a lot. Thats no sleep for me for the next few hours.
7. Status King Bass standard in Candy Apple Red, lighter amp and cab, maybe, or possibly swap what I've got for something else
8. I smell celery.
9. My very first "proper" bass head was a Mac 200w with a HH 2x15" cab and as I remember it sounded sh*te.
10. Not me!
11. On the bloody bass, Jean Jacques Burnel.
12. Schaller, only cause I dont know any better.
13. DR Hi Beams, but I wish they did double ball ends for my headless. Used to use Elites but DR's sound better across all the strings.
14. Hi there. Nice to have another fellow left hander in the club and a good choice taking up the bass. I started playing bass over twenty years ago and began with an Ibanez Blazer £99 and played this through my stereo bad idea. I stopped playing for far, far, too long but picked it up again in 2004 and bought a 1995 Squier Precision, absolutely mint with a £40 padded gig bag and a great strap for £100. I fret- stoned it, and gave it a good set-up and it plays really well. Maybe you could take a bass player with you when you go to buy the bass to check it out. 4 or 5 string would probably be best for now only because you won't find a 6 string thats any good for £150. Happy hunting, Steve.
15. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!
16. I think it's absolutely Beautiful. I really wish there was some way of getting the funds together.
17. No Paul, no, no, nooooooooo.
18. Bought an Ashdown Mini 48 cab from this nice chap. Neighbours came down to complain when I tried it out, he was very cool about it. Cab was as described and a good price and he was local. Would deal with Naill again.
19. Agreed! Anyone interested in the lefty Wal I saw, contact the Bass Cellar.

21. I went to London this week for a few days with the wife and decided to go for a trip to Charing Cross Road and Denmark Street. There must have been about 1000+ basses between all the shops, I counted 15 left handed basses. There was a lefty Wal in the Bass Cellar which was in poor condition, I didn't ask the price, and 2 Warwicks, Mexican Jazz, Precision and a couple of cheapies. In the other shops were the usual suspects, £200-£300 Chinese basses. I didn't bother going to the Bass Gallery as I think they only have 2 basses in stock that are left handed at the moment.
22.
Have you thought about Villex pups? Or what about Q Tuner? Cheers Steve
The reason I'm asking about these pups is because I'm thinking of putting the Villex into a MIJ Jazz Bass. Has anybody got any opinions about these going into the Sei bass?
23.
Bit of a colour sample
Nice. So what goes on next? Is it going to be a red tint to the lacquer to achive the purple? The fingerboard looks stunning. When Alan finishes this there won't be a dry eye in the house. I can't wait to see mine lacquered as the grain on the Amboyna will look amazing!
24. Have you thought about Villex pups? Or what about Q Tuner? Cheers Steve
25. Are you talking about people who write with their left hand and play with their right hand?
