1. The year is 1986 and Trace Elliot is King but there is a combo that is both powerful and sweet sounding...... That combo was The Combo 300. £90, bargain.
2.
As promised... this thread has been overdue a proper update with some proper pictures. Time to change that. So... this is a Rumour that has been completed today - and it's a bit special. Thought I'd give you a sneak before it heads up to it's new owner in Liverpool. Check out the bookmatched billets on the rear of that neck... outrageous woods and a cool burst on the body. A different lacquer has been used on this bass - it really reacts with the light and hence depending upon which angle you view the bass, you get an outrageous change in colour... pinks through to orange and reds to brown. Cool vibe? What do you think?
That, is astounding.
3.
Hybrid Arts was great with this. So easy to use. I recorded most of the backing tracks on this system for the band I was with at the time plus was my main writing tool.
Sod this, show us some pics of your Shuker.
4.
Dan, I have a feeling there will be a Tecamp 6x10 sitting in the corner of your room within a couple of years, next to those lovely Shukers.
What's that supposed to mean?
5.
how about you give me the bass, and i give you the money later, joke!!! BUMP for a great bass, i just wish i had the money because id be making the trip to you now...
Hi Marcus, have you shown your Dad this? Why not ask him for a loan and then pay it back over an agreed period. Tell him it's a stop gap till you get a real Status.
6. Dobber alert.
7. That's a sh*t load of bass, for a tiny bit of Sterling.
8. There you go Josh, how about a Shuker 5?
9.
Noticed this yesterday but I had a lefty 5 string WAL back in the 90's and was quite heavy compared to any 4 string WALs I tried or owned, so I'll be passing on this. I think it needs a new nut as well due to being strung the other way at some point, the groove being too wide on the G string.
Hi Alan, did you get on with the neck profile? I tried a 4 string Custom in the Bass Cellar a couple of years ago and found the shape uncomfortable, very deep U shape. It was really battered and they wanted £2500.
10. I couldn't say Josh, they go for crazy money.
11. No mate, if anything, I may have to sell some gear to make ends meet.
12. Good grief, I got one back in 1988 with Pro 24, with a Kawai K1, into a Roland U110, Alesis HR16, Peavey Multi FX all recording onto a Fostex 4 track, then bounce down to get 10 tracks of hiss. £25 is great.
13. How cool is that story and how cool is this rig. Great price too.
14. This is a great price for a seriously over looked make. If it sounds anything like mine, it will have amazing low end and will sing with a good, powerful amp. Even better, when you lift it up, you will piss yourself laughing at how ridiculously light it is.

17. Beautiful bass there my friend. I too like dings, the first one is gutting, then after that you can chill. I did a gig last year where some pissed knobhead knocked into my ACG, whilst on its stand. It started to rock forward but our guitarist was on stage (club floor) fannying around with his board settings (for a change) and caught it before it hit the deck. That's the only bass out of my collection that doesn't have any marks what so ever.
18. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
19. You a bad Mo Fo.
20. Brilliant, don't forget your dowels. IMO, the lower horn could be a tad bigger.
21.
Pah, I'll see your 4 x 12 and raise you a 2x12, mini 15, TVM350 and TVM600
I'll see your 2x12 and Mini 15 and raise you a 6x10".
22. Nicely rolled frets and fingerboard edges, this kind of attention to detail is what makes Sei justify their prices. 48 fret ends, all filed and polished to perfection is no joke to achive, I should know.
23.
The LMIII800 has the same power amp as the SD800 and as the preamps are near identical that's where the difference in tone lies. The extra headroom will be pointless, your cab can't do anything with that power. There, saved you ££££££! Alex
Says he, with a 3000 watt amp.
24.
You're not supposed to. Your third and fourth fingers are supposed to double up.
25. Now, they are something else.
