1.
I dunno, I think high end custom basses have more interesting things to talk about than sub £300 models. Not being snobby, but imagine a car magazine only reviewing cheap hatchbacks and ignoring dream cars which we all like to look at. All reviews of run of the mill budget basses (irrespective of their quality and value) all sound the same, to me. Especially when the magazine reviews are usually always positive. ped
Yadda, yadda, where's the doggy pics?
 2. Bloody hell, that was cheap!
 3. Glock gear is par excxellence!!!
 4. Spot on, I use them on my ACG 6 and they are nice. How about half rounds, they have loads of tension.
 5. Headless basses are cool. I've just got a Status S2 Classic neck through and it's everything they say.
 6.
Thanks Matt - it'll look even better when I put black hardware on it
Oh no you don't, it looks the beaulex with gold.
 7.
I've been chosen as a test pilot for the rebel head. I'll start posting my findings as soon as i get my hands on it!
Well done, please post this on Talkbass, so as to wind up all the gonks.
 8. My Squier cost £100 with a £30 gig bag thrown in. Korean, 1995, plays great, sounds great, end of.
 9. Great sales thread, hi Ben, tidy playing, good luck.
 10.
Well the Alembic me and Kiwi owned for a bit ran up a price of $10,000 if ordered today, and that was without a couple of features like the 9 laminate neck, so maybe it would be even more... I am sure there are far more expensive ones out there though! Still, my best bass cost me only £500 and it slays them all! ped
Pics, now, please.

 13.
My most expensive bass would go for £700 or less on here, but I wouldn't sell it for all the tea in China. If it was stolen I'd kill everybody to make sure I got the guy who did it.
Classic.
 14.
doesnt this thread already exist? EDIT: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=20977&hl
You Sir are a Basschat anorak.
 15. Agreed. P.S. i heard an interview with Marcus Miller a few years ago and he said he would reccommend playing along to the whole Earth Wind and Fire back catalouge , tried it recently and i have to say my groove is without doubt "Deeeeeeeper" , serious pocket sh*t ! ohmy.gif
 16. Just a bit of fun that could get a bit twisted but let's not go there. Come on all you Heavy Rollers.
 17. Yeah cheers, nice one, just what I need living here in Jerkinbed. I have a B.Assmaster (Malekko), are you trying to skint me?
 18.
Yes, it's roughly $800 including a custom made hard case. I have the same pickups on my Dean TRML Bass and they rival my Gibson Thunderbird for thunderyness (if that is a word!). Dean are making USA made Basses this year, the prototype was displayed at the DOA 2009 show last weekend.
Right, so the bass and custom case will cost $800, or is that the deposit? Steve.
 19.
Wow! That was supremely cheap, Steve! Welcome to the 'club'...
Hi OTPJ, I know, I will breath a sigh of relief when it arrives.
 20.
Nice one Steve. I had the first left handed 5 string S2 thru-neck from Status which was also all black as yours but with blue side leds. A friend of mine ordered the first left handed 4 string neck-thru S2s (fretted and fretless) so guess your new purchase came shortly after these.
Hi Alan I love the look of your Shuker but just one question, is there any hi-end custom UK bass that you haven't owned and can we have pics in the lefty thread?
 21.
Hopefully joining you lads soon. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Status-Bass-Graphite...13QQssPageNameZ
Should be here tomorrow morning, I can't wait as I have wanted a Status bass for over 20 years. I even had a replica built because I thought Rob would never make lefties. Will get pics up after a good spank.
 22. My problem is too big and too small but I don't like ewaar woo waar, who can I call ?
 23.
Thanks for the tip, Steve. I'd like someone to take the bass head apart, extract the pre amp (the tone controls and compressor) and put it in a box for me. I'm not clear how the compressor works with the gain - there is a relationship between them -but it makes sense there will be a power amp in there that can be disconnected. Do you reckon he can do this?
Hi Kev, I took an old Ampeg preamp to him as it was very poorly. He took over an hour to tell me what was wrong, using oscilloscopes, computers and general chjuzzyness. I'm playing through it now and it sounds lovely. He is obsessed with sound, so, he may be a candidate.
 24. Just to say that I am really honored to be buying Dr Das' bass, some of the most righteous dub bass lines ever recorded. MASSIVE RESPECT.
