Cheers chaps, yep - Chunky was the engineer. Lovely bloke... We had a great night... over 400 in! Not bad for a first visit Nightmare afterwards though, had to wait until club closed (4am) before we could load out... only to find & argument happening & some poor blooke being punched into the side of our van... and then being KICKED hard in the head multiple times.... Not the nicest memory to take away from Birkenhead... Our first time in Belfast on Saturday night was splendid too! Great city, nice people and successful enough for us to return at the end of the year/start of 2010. Back of the net!!!
Hi Gary, sorry we couldn't make it but yet again, Jerkinbed shows it's still a great place to go for a night out. -

Sean....., Sean....., we're waiting for you. (Said in mildly scary "Poltergeist" voice)

ACG for me, I love the designs, the build quality is very good and they are good value. They also sound incredible.

Getting into Jazz - where to start

+ 3 on the going to see live gigs. I was extremely fortunate to be able to see The Wayne Shorter Quartet last year, with Brian Blade (drums), John Patitucci (bass) and Danilo Perez (piano), all absolutely stunning players, I was a total emotional mess. -
Watch out Moo.

Next day delivery should be what it says, getting the item in the post before the final collection, with the premium paid for first class delivery, should get it to you for the next day. Did they send it via Royal Mail? I would kick up a stink, just think how many others could have paid the extra and not received the service, that could be quite a few thousand pounds a year in their pockets, for something that they don't deliver on.

A Status bass is always singing, the player has to orchestrate what goes into the amp.
I was only saying to my Status-owning friend in Canada a short while ago, that Streamlines seemed quite rare for their first year of production (from early 2008), but now they're getting seriously popular! Can't wait to get my new one on Saturday
Hi there fryer, nice to see you, to see you, nice. Lovely Framus there. Sounds like a great band, I was supposed to be doing a gig tonight but it got pulled, so I can say hello. Is your Dad still playing? Steve.
How about you give one to BGM to review? They claim to struggle to get gear to review!
Excellent idea, Sean. -
Told ... or sat on?
I think one has been "sat in".
One buys a sofa capable of being sat in.
That's me told.
Finally, after 2 years of sitting half completed in the corner of my bedroom, my Warmoth Jazz is done. Only finished last night (well, 3am) and only had half hours play through an amp, and that was at minimal volume. Will give my full thoughts after it's been further tinkered with and gigged a few times, however, initial feeling is it's a beauty. The ACG/East filter based pre already has given out a few lovely hints as to what it's fully capable of. It does require a rethink as to how you achieve your chosen tone (or tones, cos there's lots of 'em in there), as has been mentioned by others who've fitted it, but I think it's gonna be a revelation when I've fully got to grips with it. The same for the Nordstrands, Jazz Bass heaven! Really enjoyed the whole build process. Learned a few things along the way. Did all the shielding myself (this time last week I didn't know what "star grounding" was!), dressed the fret ends and rolled the edge of the fingerboard as well (Warmoth leave the frets pretty much alone after they've been fitted, so the edges are quite square, and I forgot to stipulate that I wanted the fingerboard edges rolled when I placed my order). Have to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to Alan at ACG for all his help, advice, patience (having to answer the same question, just rephrased, over and over...) and almost instant replies. What an absolutely top guy. The only thing to bugger the experience up was noticing that I'd somehow managed to chip the finish near the control plate when I was screwing in the last screw. Don't know how I did it, was extra careful. It's hard to see from a distance but I know it's there and it really pisses me off! THE SPECS; Swamp ash body, finished in Vintage White (by Warmoth). Birdseye maple neck, finished in clear satin on the back and clear gloss on the front of the headstock. Ebony fingerboard. Nordstrand NJ4SE split coil pickups. ACG/John East EQ02 filter based pre. Badass BassII bridge. Schaller machines. Control/pickup cavities copper shielded.
Get those frets polished with some Tcut, or, if you can buff them on a wheel, even better.
Not this soon after widdershins. Unless we are playing the turtleback variant, which I thought I was safe to suppose.
Don't be fool, the Crown Plazza is a segway.
