  1. Lovely bass and I’ve never seen a case that nice, GLWYS Brian
  2. I don’t think the V reissues work , they are normally dated by the neck and neck pocket dates
  3. That one looks like an American Vintage 1957 P-Bass reissue to me, the V indicates a vintage/ modern reissue
  4. Sorry for your loss Kirstie, that’s quite a collection to inherit , you should find any information you need here about any of your basses , good luck just to add, if you was to become a supporting member you would be able to post in the, Wotzit werth?!!, thread
  5. Yeah, well spotted, from what I understand it’s a rework with Bullwackie on the microphone
  6. These are quality precisions, I’ve got one and really like them, GLWYS
  7. Thanks for highlighting this, I’m on the fretboard and occasionally have adverts out for basses, I’ll keep an eye out
  8. Yeah, it’s not something I normally watch , someone told me about it, I haven’t seen the jukebox one but the episode where they did Tony Wilson’s jazz bass of Hot Chocolate made me cringe a bit
  9. Some of you might find this episode of the repair shop interesting, I don’t think they really knew who they had there, it’s Neil Fraser , the mad professor who worked with just about everyone in the reggae and dub industry from the early days , especially lee Perry The Repair Shop 2023 episode 12 https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8qxq90
  10. If you want to rumble the bass a bit, Prince Douglas
  11. This must be one of the tunes I remember the most from this era , Ruddy Simbal the system, the version has a great Bassline
  12. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  13. The pro 2 is a very good stable instrument and I’m doubtful it’s anything to do with the nut ,or anything else except that it’s not been set up properly, as Beedster has mentioned look for any wear on the truss rod nut, I always do this and it’s a good indication of use, hopefully for you it’s a simple fix , just check it over really good , good luck
  14. The pro 2 should set up really low, I’m guessing as above that there’s a lot of relief on that one, I’d see if you can get some pictures of the neck from the top looking down or from the bottom looking up to see how straight the neck is for more of an idea, they are great basses, good luck
  15. Never taken a spare and luckily I’ve never needed one, and I’ve never broken a string since I’ve been playing
  16. Think the OP was asking about the scratched initials, not the brand
  17. This thread’s given me ideas of getting another 62 stack knob reissue, there’s really not many available in white, looks like Andy Baxter might have a sunburst one coming up
  18. I’m into vintage basses and strangely if it’s been refinished that’s the one thing that puts me off buying it, I think the finish is part of its charm and history, but I do agree that if it’s in a bad state for some reason then a good finish can make it look good ,if you intend to keep it it doesn’t matter, but it devalues it considerably
  19. Think I posted this a long time back, great song and one of my favourite films
