  1. Not sure I’d drop that money on it but that’s pretty cool
  2. Could be Sherwood as it fades with time but I’m thinking that’s a custom colour, maybe Foam green
  3. That’s cool, recently I heard a song I liked and it was by them, so I went down a bit of a rabbit hole listening to a lot of their tunes and reading up on Laura Lee who it says was influenced by reggae and dub , she gets a great sound from her SX jazz and plays some nice Basslines
  4. Nice one TRB, hope he sticks with it and goes far, my boys like the bass but they are not interested in playing it, one wants to play steel drums, great picture
  5. I think I’ve watched most videos of him on YouTube now, I can’t say I like all the music but I find watching him play and listening what he has to say really interesting, his playing style and technique is amazing
  6. I’ve got these ones
  7. I use the Hercules ones with the neck support too
  8. I’m liking this tune today, nice beat and i might start learning the Bassline tomorrow
  9. I’ll up that to 20-1 😁
  10. I like a bit of Sade and have been enjoying learning this, it’s different to what I normally play and it trips me up often, good one to play though
  11. Oh no, this is so sad, I used to chat with Dave quite a bit by PM and we would send each other strings and all kinds of various stuff , truly a generous and thoughtful guy, I’m gutted 😞 , condolences to the family
  12. I’m not too bad on a C neck, my AV62 P has one but I definitely find the B width more comfortable, which always gives me a dilemma when a nice 60s one comes up for sale, I think it’s because I’ve played jazzes for years
  13. Pretty sure a 66 and a 65 will have a 7 for jazz
  14. I did see that and it looks pretty cool, if I was closer I’d have a look, ii did notice the frets and it says it’s been re fretted, are they worn or just need a re dress
  15. Was listening to some Barrington levy earlier and came across this which I haven’t heard for a while And from around 1981
  16. Another really great video here that’s worth watching, really like the groove at 50.40 , wonderful playing and sound
  17. Ah yeah 😁, now I’m understanding
  18. Just a suggestion, wouldn’t a squier be better as I think it may be easier to sell the neck on if your changing it to a jazz one, and also upgrading anything else with fender parts should fit
  19. I had to look up captcha, it’s just a picture showing different colours
  20. Not sure about that one Rob, there’s a LPB blue and 2 others in this pic, excuse the geetars 😁
  21. I think we looked into this once and there was quite a few different shades of lake placid blue, hasn’t the player ll got a Aquatone Blue
  22. Wonderful present Steve, they are great jazzes, I think jr will be very pleased
  23. Just reviving this one to say I can recommend this from Gibson, it does a nice job of cleaning and buffs up really shiny , not sticky at all, I’d say it’s better than the fender one I’ve been using and apparently it’s ok for all finishes,
  24. This got me looking at his new album , so I listened to The Essential Anthology again and being a big Matumbi follower from when they first started I also looked at what Dennis Bovell had produced , I recognised that first track but from a remix, I think this is the original from when he was in Matumbi but doing other things at the same time, as he went under a few different names like 4th Street Orchestra, African Stone, Dennis Matumbi, the one I’d like to hear is his dub version of Joshua Moses Africa, here’s a few of his others and here’s another which is probably better known as A Little Way Different, probably one of my favourite Basslines and dubwise ,around 77 the B side of blood ah go run
