Imo there’s always something to practise if you want to improve, even if you are at a high level, I work on technique, scales, arpeggios, intervals, ghost notes etc, the list is endless really

I played a 5 for about a year to see what it was all about and still do very occasionally if a certain Bassline has any lower notes ,but that’s rare, so 2 reasons for me, I can do everything I want on a 4 and I play vintage basses which only have 4

Hi Si, I don’t know much about squier but I had my nephews P bass neck in my workshop which wouldn’t adjust and out of curiosity I took the fingerboard off, like stub said maybe try and get the nut out, I’d say it might be a bit tricky, here’s a few pics that might be of use so you can see what it’s like if yours is similar
