  1. Was going through some of King Sounds tracks and I like this version of the heptones song Book of Rules, great voice and bass
  2. That’s really good going Chris, well done, I’d struggle with that myself
  3. I’ve had custom shop fenders and they are amazing instruments, don’t know where you get the badly bolted together bit, they have gone up in price considerably and I wouldn’t now pay 5k for one, I’d rather go vintage for that money
  4. Really liking this, Aston Familyman Barrett on bass & Junior Marvin on guitar, Aston Barrett Jr on drums
  5. Hi SumOne , there’s some info on here about the releases you might find interesting, lots of other links to look through too at the top, I like the one on the early labels https://www.downbeat-special.co.uk/truthsandrights.html
  6. Thanks miles, yes it’s definitely positive if it reaches the younger audience, the cinema was fairly full and many young people there, I already knew the history of Bob from when I first bought Exodus around 77 but it was really good to see it in a film, I thought they did a great job of his life story, good to see a few shots of studio one too, I especially liked the part with the Wailing Wailers doing Simmer Down I’d say it’s definitely worth a watch if you haven’t already seen it
  7. Well I’m off to see ,one love the Marley film, shall report back later
  8. It was just to try it really, some of my flats are 20 or so years old and sound great, I wouldn’t say it’s taken them to that point but definitely takes the edge off
  9. Just reviving this one as I tried it today, I fitted a new set of labella Low tension flats to one of my jazzes and played it for a while, then I took them off to clean the fretboard and adjust the truss rod, I wiped the strings with Vaseline and cleaned them with a clean cloth and refitted, you can’t feel the Vaseline at all and the difference in tone is considerably noticeable, a much warmer sound but not too dull, it’s what I was looking for so really pleased
  10. I like that one too, Thanks very much for that information eloisa , much appreciated
  11. Came across this by chance and I like the groove, it’s by Dope Lemon , who I’ve never heard of before
  12. Pretty sure we’ve had this before but I really enjoyed hearing it today on one of the reggae stations I listen to , quite a classic
  13. Do you think they do this deliberately to make people contact them, I’ve asked many times for more info and pictures of neck stamps, pickup dates etc and they’ve sent them back almost immediately, so they already have the details but just don’t put it on their website
  14. Haven’t seen it yet gasman, I’ve only seen the trailers but I’ll be checking it out as soon as I get a chance, good to hear you saying it’s worth it
  15. Listening to some Junior Byles today, probably better known for his tune Not fade away , which is a classic, nice bassline on this
  16. This is one I’m learning at the moment, it’s Robbie Shakespeare and quite challenging for me, nothing really consistent, I’m ok up to about 1.38 so far then I’ve got to start breaking it down slowly
  17. I bought a precision a while back which came with the labella jamerson flats 52-110 fitted, they are way too heavy for me so I put my usual LTF’s on 42-100 , no problems whatsoever, I’d say you’ll be fine
  18. Bob Marley Uprising on now on sky arts and after, Up close and personal interviews and footage, if anyone is interested
  19. My son used to listen to slipknot, a few tracks are not bad, bit heavy for me though 😁
  20. Never heard of Spiceknot, I’m guessing something like slipknot
