  1. That’s funky, and I like it, does it come off without damaging the finish 🙂
  2. I tried the fender tapes but didn’t like those, they had a coating that felt odd and not as smooth as the D’addario 🙂
  3. I love them, they are perfect for what I play, like you say they are warm and thumpy but not muddy, I’ve had a set on my old shell pink fender jazz for about 5 years and they still sound great, I also have a set on a tokai jazz which sounds really deep and punchy. Imo, D’addario do the best tapes, they also look really cool on your Warwick ☝️
  4. I only wear labella 😁
  5. Thanks for that Pawel, he has to be one of the best bass players I’ve seen in recent times for playing ability and groove, just superb 🙂
  6. I hadn’t heard of them either until earlier this year someone on here posted this, which I tried to play, unsuccessfully I might add 😁
  7. Another from Samsara 🙂
  8. Thanks Uberkate, I can’t say I’ve ever tried anything like this, it sounds interesting, would you have a recommendation 🙂
  9. I’ve never heard of that myself, I’ve had well over 30 fender jazz basses , and never had a problem with one bridge , perhaps I’ve been lucky 🙂
  10. Thanks mangotango, This is what I’m thinking, because I’ve only ever played reggae for 35+ years , and I’m really enjoying playing different genres, if it’s got a good Bassline that I like, I’ll have a go. I’m liking quite a lot of pink Floyd bass too ,that Roger Waters is a bit good 🙂
  11. I was going to transcribe it by ear , but that makes things easier, thanks very much for that 👍👍
  12. Top man Frank, cheers ☝️
  13. That’s interesting frank, I couldn’t see anything on samsara’s home page, I’d like to see them 🙂
  14. Great story Tim , that’s quite a claim to fame 👍
  15. I’ve always played a 4 , but I bought my first 5er earlier this year, it took me a while to get used to the extra string , but when I did I totally understood why people play 5s , it’s so much less effort going across the fretboard as opposed to up and down, but the thing is, I Like playing up and down the neck. I enjoy having both 🙂. If you really like it, go for it ☝️
  16. I happened to hear this a while ago, I remembered it was out when I was 14 in about 1978 ,and I liked it then, I’ve never played it before, so I’m looking forward to nailing this one , listening to it, it seems fairly straightforward, it’s such a great tune and a nice heavy Bassline which I like . Are any of his others anything like this 🙂
  17. That’s such a nice bass, I’m surprised that it’s still here 🙂
  18. It’s a great tune, and I remember the video , 1983 🙂
  19. I don’t normally play this but I quite like ZZ top, I didn’t count, I just got with the rhythm 🙂
  20. No Bass 😧, what kinda song is that! 😁
  21. I’m sure someone will be along soon to advise on the electronics, there’s some pretty knowledgeable people here 🙂
  22. I always wear a strap while I’m sitting practicing which is set at the same length as when I’m standing, so really my playing position stays the same, also a while ago I picked up my Sandberg without the strap and it slipped off my tracksuit bottoms and broke the jack plug on the lead , luckily the bass didn’t have a mark on it, so now I always remember wear it 🙂
  23. Gimme all your lovin , and, Sharp dressed man - ZZ Top btw , great thread MacDaddy☝️
  24. It’s a nice bass and I could live without the headstock decal , but removing the ramp will definitely leave noticeable holes in the body, which for me would be a no. I would wait for the right one that you’re happy with 🙂
