  1. That’s great to know ped thank you 👍
  2. I regularly play open strings sometimes dampened or muted depending on what sound I want I don’t see a problem with that
  3. I’ve never tried one of them but I have to say it looks fabulous
  4. Markbass little mark 250 black line With the vle and vpf you can dial in some great tones
  5. I have one and IMO they’re great you can get some serious low end but the mids And highs are crystal clear the tweeter doesn’t really seem to do anything much. They are very light and really well made. I was using the ashdown mag 115 deep which I still have but the markbass is far superior in every way If you’re in east London or Essex area you’re welcome to have a go on mine
  6. Could you not lower your pickup just one side ,just below the e string it may only need a few turns
  7. If you are a reggae fan Alain M is the man
  8. Your work is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing
  9. You are definitely doing the right thing trying different approaches, 2 years ago I decided to really improve my muting techniques and switched to the’ moveable thumb’ technique and it really works for me, just find what works for you 😀
  10. As Norris says And imo You can overthink these things just get some solid Basslines together play how you feel comfortable and then you can start refining your techniques in time ,the more you play you will find you start to do these things automatically
  11. I bought a set of D'Addario half rounds 45-100 for my jb they feel very smooth and are a nice quality string , they are definitely a brighter tone than all my other flats and I don’t get the finger noise that I get from roundwound strings
  12. The ratchets in the set I bought have plastic coated hooks,so less chance of scratching the equipment
  13. I bought these all in a pack ,the ratchet straps would be ideal
  14. In a reggae band it’s different the bass player and drummer are the main people 😀
  15. I would say they have a flatter deeper sound than the fender ones I have on another jb , if you’re after brightness I don’t think these are the ones. They’re great for reggae and maybe metal ‘not that I’ve ever played it’ 😀
  16. Looks great Johnny you can file the pick guard quite easily with a fine file just support the guard well underneath I’ve had to ease a few before now
  17. I love the sound of a p and I have quite a nice one but I can’t get on with the neck width , maybe if I played it all the time I would get used to it. so I bought this it’s a 1998 pj probably the most comfortable bass I own
  18. They are definitely worth a go With a bit of tweaking on the amp I got a lovely warm tone through my markbass ny 15’s
  19. If it hadn’t been for basschat I would never have heard of this band. as I mainly play reggae and a bit of funk. What a revelation they are absolutely great 👍
  20. I bought a set of these a few years ago just to put on a jb I leave in my summerhouse £12 I think and was really impressed Very nice deep warm tone Well worth the money
  21. I don’t think it’s a British thing, it’s simply some people just don’t appreciate what you do 👍
  22. A u bass would probably be just the right size 😀
