    Ah so yours is the us jazz ,same pickguard as this one, IMO the cheaper pickguards are not bad ,but if it’s quite an expensive bass I’d opt for the genuine one 😀 maybe keep an eye out on eBay they do come up now and again

    I recently upgraded an old mex fender jazz and fitted a black pickguard from eBay, I had to file it out a little bit around the pickup which was tight and about 1mm off the neck curve ,but otherwise it looks fine to me for £5.88 maybe worth a go https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173526289183

    It’s not a stupid question at all, because lots of the notes are played on the offbeat ,that’s what gives the Bassline a different feel , you will also play pickup notes which are notes before the 1 if you are counting 1,2,3,4 . A good tune to practice getting the timing is Stir it up , Bob Marley . IMO Robbie Shakespeare is one of the best reggae bass players ever 😀. Also on YouTube Alain m has some great basslines

    I love the sound of the chapman stick , but they take a lot of co ordination, 10 or 12 strings is too much for me to grasp 😀 how long did it take you to learn?

    Maybe a p bass special, it’s a p body with a jazz neck, very comfortable to play and not too expensive 😀

    Not me ,but my girlfriend spilt a glass of red wine Down the front of my new fender p ,while it was on the stand 😭

    Apparently it’s fitted with double sided tape which doesn’t mark the bass, but I wouldn’t want to put that to the test 😀

    I use mutes all the time, that looks really good, I really like ‘The bass mute ‘ but I can’t bring myself to pay £85 for it
