  1. Thanks for highlighting this, I’m on the fretboard and occasionally have adverts out for basses, I’ll keep an eye out
  2. Yeah, it’s not something I normally watch , someone told me about it, I haven’t seen the jukebox one but the episode where they did Tony Wilson’s jazz bass of Hot Chocolate made me cringe a bit
  3. Some of you might find this episode of the repair shop interesting, I don’t think they really knew who they had there, it’s Neil Fraser , the mad professor who worked with just about everyone in the reggae and dub industry from the early days , especially lee Perry The Repair Shop 2023 episode 12 https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8qxq90
  4. If you want to rumble the bass a bit, Prince Douglas
  5. This must be one of the tunes I remember the most from this era , Ruddy Simbal the system, the version has a great Bassline
  6. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  7. The pro 2 is a very good stable instrument and I’m doubtful it’s anything to do with the nut ,or anything else except that it’s not been set up properly, as Beedster has mentioned look for any wear on the truss rod nut, I always do this and it’s a good indication of use, hopefully for you it’s a simple fix , just check it over really good , good luck
  8. The pro 2 should set up really low, I’m guessing as above that there’s a lot of relief on that one, I’d see if you can get some pictures of the neck from the top looking down or from the bottom looking up to see how straight the neck is for more of an idea, they are great basses, good luck
  9. Never taken a spare and luckily I’ve never needed one, and I’ve never broken a string since I’ve been playing
  10. Think the OP was asking about the scratched initials, not the brand
  11. This thread’s given me ideas of getting another 62 stack knob reissue, there’s really not many available in white, looks like Andy Baxter might have a sunburst one coming up
  12. I’m into vintage basses and strangely if it’s been refinished that’s the one thing that puts me off buying it, I think the finish is part of its charm and history, but I do agree that if it’s in a bad state for some reason then a good finish can make it look good ,if you intend to keep it it doesn’t matter, but it devalues it considerably
  13. Think I posted this a long time back, great song and one of my favourite films
  14. A new bass should be in new condition, if it’s B stock, ex demo or used then it’s kinda expected but still noted , if it was me it would go straight back
  15. Similar to me ,because I had one of these reissues only a few years later than the one above and stupidly sold it for a Sandberg
  16. Yeah I suppose you’d have to because a refinish would ruin it
  17. That’s a possibility, and maybe get someone to finish that small area to match, but would that affect the value
  18. I like the 82-84 Fullerton ones , I often look and they don’t come up very often , but that’s overpriced for the condition it’s in and the neck wear doesn’t seem natural to me
  19. Definitely right, looks really nice and a slim nut width too
  20. Sorry to hear this b5, hope you get on your feet real soon, you’re welcome to borrow one of mine anytime
