*** NOW SOLD - Thanks for looking! *** Hi Folks A recent bass purchase means I'm trying to balance the books and, as a result, I now have this Genz Benz NX2 212-T Neo 600 watts 4 ohm Cab + Roqsolid cover for sale at £SOLD or near offer, plus p&p. Reason for selling etc.. I bought this in August 2015 from Hamfist and then sold it to chimike 3 months later when I went down a valve amp route and bought an Ampeg rig. Less than 6 months ago, I bought it back from Mike so I would have a lightweight cab in my kit bag. However, I'm just not gigging enough these days and whenever I do, it's with my Ampeg rig. So, in short, this is something that's not being used and if I can sell it here, then I won't have t sell my Schecter Diamond P5 bass that's currently for sale, which I think I'd rather keep.. Sound This is very subjective obviously, but IMHO it's a fantastic sounding cab that sounds great with my solid state Hughes & Kettner Bassbase 600 head, my Ampeg V4BH valve head and also with the Eden WT-400 head that I've just sold to geoff90guitar. One of the reasons I bought it originally was because I heard it was pretty much bomb-proof, and that's been my take on it so far - it can handle pretty much whatever you throw at it and it sounds great for pure bass tone but also with effects, like octave pedals, auto-wah, distortion etc.. Also, I bought it because it's lightweight at 47lbs and very easy to move around.. I also like the fact that it's quite a tall cab, so you can hear yourself more easily.. At the South East Bash last month, Davey Rimmer used one of these to demo some Uriah Heep songs in his workshop and it sounded great paired with a GK800 head and Davey's Warwick. Here's a link to TrevorR's film of it in action: https://www.facebook...?type=3 Photos, condition.. Here's link to some photos of the cab: https://flic.kr/s/aHsm5kaGee The cab is in good condition as you can see in the photos, but it's been used and as a result, it isn't mint. I'd say a 7.5 out of 10.. Spec, reviews etc Full spec can be found here: - http://www.genzbenz....&sid=725&cid=96 Ed 'The Bass Whisperer' Friedland's very good review of the cab is worth a look at:https://youtu.be/5BrLRqcXZ5g https://youtu.be/5BrLRqcXZ5g And there's some useful discussion (see quote below) on these cabs here on Talkbass: hhttp://www.talkbass....x2-212t.929725/ "..Amazing cabinet. I borrowed it from a good friend for two big gigs. I had the opportunity to use it on a rather large stage with a Streamliner 900. You wouldn't believe the volume and tone this thing has for such a small light box. The next day used the cabinet with an Ampeg SVT 3 head and it was even more amazing. The gig was outdoors with a rock band and volume wasn't an issue. Nice tight bottom end. I use a 1976 P Bass with La Bella Flat Wounds. The cabinet was able to produce a nice vintage tone. I'm also getting older and weight is a big issue for me. At 47 lbs, your back will be thanking you at the end of the night. I have luggage that weighs more than this when I go to Thailand every summer. Definitely going to pick one up soon. They're not cheap but well worth it." Shipping, trades etc This is sale only I'm afraid... And as for shipping, obviously, I'd prefer this was collected. having said that, I am happy to courier it if you're too far away to come and collect. But, I won't ship unless you're prepared to pay the additional £10 or so that it usually costs to insure these items up to the right value - it's just not worth the risk. But if you are reasonably local and would like to come and try it out, then please PM me to arrange.. Tea/Coffee/Biscuits in plentiful supply of course... Thanks for looking and If you've any more questions, please ask away here or send me a PM. Location/Venue: Upstairs at The Nightingale Pub, Wood Green, London. 2nd August, 1978. Your age: 'I was just 17...' Your bass: Hondo Rickenbacker 4001 copy, bought by my mum from Kay's catalogue in 1977. I still have it.. Your amp: Can't remember exactly, but I think it was a Carlsbro Stingray 100w head and a home made cab of some description. The set list (some of it): All original songs.. a set of dystopian ditties about cloning, nuclear war, the winter of discontent and other such cheery late 70s topics. Anything else that might be funny/interesting/embarrassing: Just the hair, the clothes and the make up! Actually, the Nightingale pub was a venue played at by a lot of upcoming bands and artists over the years, including Roxy Music, Vinegar Joe, UFO. For those that might be interested, there's some more info about it and another Wood Green music venue called The Fishmongers Hall here: http://www.bowesandbounds.org/m/blogpost?id=6278630%3ABlogPost%3A46792
Just bought an Eden amp from Geoff and can only echo the comments in the previous 2 posts.. Very friendly to deal with, super fast delivery, great packaging, and of course, a brilliant sounding amp! So I'm more than happy.. Many thanks Geoff!
Well, that's what I said exactly a year ago today and the great thing is, it still holds true this year! Only difference is that it's the other way around now in that, I've sold Geoff his Eden amp back! What a weird lot we are here on Basschat.. 😁 Great to deal with you again Geoff and thanks for being such an easy person to deal with! See you again this time next year... 😉 Nik
You definitely win the prize for the best custom guitars there (a red squirl and a pretzel is how I would describe them) - you need to post pictures up! (And thanks for letting me use your rack space... )
+1 It's a really distinctive bass, isn't it.. I heard it in action at a gig locally about a year ago and it sounded really good too... -
Hi Folks Picked up a Gibson Thunderbird on Friday and - apart from it being a great sounding and fun bass to play - it needs a bit of a clean, especially the neck which is a bit gunky around the frets etc. What are your suggestions for the best products and ways of doing that job as quickly and safely as possible? Many thanks Nik

SOLD : EDEN WT-400 Traveler Plus & 2U Rack Case, £SOLD

*** NOW SOLD (wow - that was quick!) *** Hi Folks Having just bought a new bass, I'm looking to balance the books by selling some of my extra gear, so up for sale is this fantastic Eden WT-400 Traveler Plus bass amp which I'm selling for £275, plus p&p. It's a brilliant piece of kit; a lightweight, USA made (1999 vintage), classic bass amp with plenty of power, superior components and one of the most versatile e.q. sections ever designed for bass guitar - all contained in a 2U rack case. It also comes with internal Eden compressor and the famous and much emulated 'enhance' control. Just to say also that it's a very quiet amp, no hum or overly loud fan noise and is in good working order. Here's a few photos: I bought it on here just about a year ago for the same price from geoff90guitar - here's the link to his For Sale thread.. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry3144411 But 'why are you selling it if it's so good?' I hear you ask... Well, I've got 4 bass amps and this was bought to be the back up to my Ampeg V4BH which gets used almost all the time (along with the Ampeg 115 in the pictures which isn't for sale).. So this just isn't getting that much use to be honest. And, because this is the amp that I think might most easily sell of the other 3 I have, this is the one to go. So, if you would like to own a modern classic bass amp that packs a real punch and offers just about all the tonal options you'll ever need, here it is! Viewings very welcome if you're local to West Sussex or equally, I'm happy to ship it by insured courier at your expense.... Any questions, please just let me know. Thanks for looking. Nik
With your background in Rock and fair collection of basses it would have been nice to hear you give a talk even if it was just on the tribute side of the music. You must have some great stories of gigs too. You've played a few first class one Gary. Dave
+1 Great idea! Let's get James involved next year as well Gary? 😊 -
Withdrawn from sale Hi Folks Having just bought another bass, it's time to move on this very nice Schecter Diamond P Custom 5 String bass, which is in extremely good condition and sounds amazing if you want a combination of P-bass thump and MM style funk all in one! Price-wise, I'm looking for £300 for this beauty! Background: I bought in on here in 2012 from it's first owner, sold it in 2015, then missed it so much I bought it back again when it became available because I liked it so much. Over the last 5 years, I have used it mainly for rehearsals, plus some gigs (including a trip to Germany last year which was fun) but as I only gig about once a month it's still pretty much in the condition it was when I first bought it. There are a couple of tiny dings on it, but they really are tiny.. Why I'm selling: This bass has outlasted two Fender Roscoe Beck 5 strings I've had, so I rate it very highly indeed, but I have another 5 string bass which I've invested time & money into to get it just how I want it and which has a similar pick-up configuration to the Schecter, so of the two, this is the one I have decided to let go. Photos: Here are some photos... I do have more and, if you want to see them, just PM me your email address and I'll happily send them over to you.. Sorry about the rotation of these - Basschat uploading wierdness!! Details: It's a 35" scale, passive bass, with an very even tone across all the strings and has a pretty thunderous sounding B-string! Though it's passive, the switching allows you to get a P Bass tone, Jazz bass tone and a MM bass tone too and with all of that, it has a really hot output to it - which is how Schecter designed these things; have a look at this Schecter video clip here: https://youtu.be/NVj6u5reiX8 Full spec available here on the Schecter website: http://www.schecterg...13-12-13-detail And here's some YouTube links of the Diamond P5, which will give you an idea of the tonal palette of the bass: https://youtu.be/kH0b96u12VA https://youtu.be/A5I1inJReuQ Price: Price-wise, I think these were over £650 when they first came out and now they've been discontinued replaced by an active version I believe, so I'm thinking that a price of around £300 for one in such good condition is about right, but if you'd like to make me an offer, then please feel free to PM me. Shipping etc: I'm always happy to ship basses, so if you want it and you want me to ship it, I can promise you that it will be well packed!! Shipping costs are additional to the price of course, and I always recommend that you pay the extra to have a bass properly insured in transit. Equally, feel free to come and give it a try if you're local to me in West Sussex - you won't be disappointed - well, by the tea and biscuits anyway! Any questions, please ask here or send me a PM. Thanks for looking, Nik
