Hi Folks I recently sold an Ibanez SRX705 to Rob aka 'tobythedog' and can happily vouch for the fact that Rob is a complete joy to deal with, so deal with him with confidence. As well as making communications really easy, Rob was also very, very patient in waiting almost a month for his new Ibanez bass to arrive, because I was ill for almost a 2 week period, just after he'd paid for it.. So thanks for everything Rob and welcome to Basschat - hope you're enjoying it here and that you enjoy the bass! Nik

I've also had the pleasure of playing this bass, back in January when I lasted visited 'Happy Jack Towers'.. Jack's comment about it having real 'presence' is absolutely spot-on. This bass has a depth and richness of tone that is lovely; adjectives more likely to be used to describe the qualities of cellos or DBs perhaps.. And I have to say, that's in quite stark contrast to the Wal 5 I had back in the early '90s, which was of a similar vintage and which I never liked. I ended up moving that one on quite quickly. Oh, and just in case it hasn't been said already, buying and trading basses and bass gear with Jack is always a complete pleasure.. To any prospective buyers I'd say make sure you have a few hours spare so you can relax and enjoy not only the new bass you're after, but also some really fascinating 'bass chat' in Jack's company! Good luck with the sale Jack..

The sound samples are great and at this price, the bass is very good value indeed, IMHO. With regards to the repair, work, it's understandable that potential buyers will have concerns.. I know i would. Worries about what will happen to the bass over time or even, worries about the potential re-sale value of it, have to be taken into account before commiting to buy.. Having said that, I had a very lovely BC RIch Eagle a long time ago that had a repair done on a broken neck by a very skilled luthier, and after that work was done, the neck was even stronger! I'm sure that if Chris at Overwater oversaw the repair on this bass, then the work will be of a high standard.. It stands to reason that the quality of any work that he authorises to come out of his workshop will HAVE to meet his exacting professional requirements, especially on one of his own basses. Good luck with the sale!

Hi Folks I had the pleasure of meeting Greg at the weekend when we met up at Hyde Park where he was gigging.. We met up so that I could buy Greg's Schecter Diamond P 5 string from him without having to use a courier - it's an amazing bass by the way - so thanks for that Greg and for taking time out from your gig to meet me!! Just to say that apart from being a really talented musician (have a look at his YouTube videos), Greg's a really upfront and honest person to deal with and though he's only been a member here on Basschat since February, he's a great addition to the Forum. So deal with in complete confidence.. Thanks for looking Nik
Oh plenty of interest here but I'm on a strict 'one-in-one-out' diet ! The only thing I may want to move on is the Stagg EUB and by the time I shifted that this would be gone.
At this rate, you never know your luck! BUMP for the weekend....

SOLD!!! FS - SWR TRIAD SPEAKER CABINET
silverfoxnik replied to MrT-Bass's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I was rehearsing last night and had to use a Markbass 210 combo, which wasn't bad at all... But i really missed the clarity and thump I normally get with my Triad... Which reminded me why I rate these cabs so highly! In fact, at last year's SE Bass Bash, Alex Claber did an A/B test between my Triad and his Super 12 T in the Jam Room, and there really wasn't that much difference, except that the Super 12 T can handle a lot more power of course.. Anyway, good luck with it! -

Me neither?? Actually, there's so much choice at the moment, it really is a buyer's market... As always, I prefer selling my gear (especially basses) here on Basschat, but perhaps for the first time in as long as I can remember, other places such as Ebay and Gumtree are a viable alternative when it comes to selling. Still - one can always live in hope. Come on Folks, this really is a good bass for the money ...
Knockout Cabs these. I used to have one and they don't half do the business. I love the way they use a low-pass filter so at certain low end frequencies you just get the 15" and then the 10" comes in as well.
+1 I still have my Triad and rate it really highly... Good luck with the sale! -
