5.
niks trb5 is a lot of bass for a very good price........ i`ve seen and heard and played it .........well worth the money.........!!!
Cheers Jon! And yes it is.. I seem to recall that you were very tempted back in 2010 when fluffo was selling it? Happy New Year by the way!
6.
Hi there, intrigued by the Daniel D tube preamp, can you shed a little more light on this, how does it compare to e.g. a Dave Hall VT1, any reviews on bass?
Hi there, thanks for the interest.. There's more info on the Daniel D here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/126575-fs-reussenzehn-daniel-d-bass-deluxe-tubebooster-l80-pp/ That's a good question, though I'm not sure how to answer it as these things are so subjective... I did have a Dave Hall valve preamp stomp box a few years ago and to be honest, of the two units, I much prefer the Daniel D.. I found the Dave Hall too subtle for my liking. Hope that helps and any more questions, please just ask.. Thanks Nik

11.
Hello mate, Any pictures of the TRB? And what sort of nick is the Peavey Mk IV in? Cheers Alex edit: just read the post properly! I can wait until tomorrow to see pictures!
The Peavey is in pretty good condition.. Will try and show it in the pics later.. Was serviced a year ago and works really well..
12. Hi Jack Good to hear from you & Happy New Year! To try and answer your questions... The Crunch Master I have doesn't have rack ears with it. TBH, I'm not sure whether they can be added or if they made them for these models originally? Have a look on the H&K website - there is some info about them I think? Soundwise, I've used it in lots of ways; all good! So for example, my bass plugged directly into it and then out of it into the Ampeg power amp I'm selling. I've also tried that same configuration into the 'power amp in' on my old Peavey head and in both cases, it works really well. It has a simple 3 band e.q. which is more than enough, espcially if you have an active bass.. Because my Roscoe Beck V is a passive bass with quite a low output, I've also used it as a pre-amp boost into the Hughes & Kettner head I have now and did the same with the Eden Metro ; again, it works really well. Allows you to drive the input stage on your amp properly IMO. It has it's own sound and depending on whether you use the 'tube out' or the 'mix out', it does different things... The best sound it has though is the 'speaker out' direct into a very good speaker (like my Triad).. It's only a 10 watt amp but it's a gorgeous sound!! As you can probably tell, I really like this piece of kit! The only reason I am putting it up for sale now is because I'm into this '2 bass rigs' thing now (one for my bass and one for my FXs) and I just won't be using it in gig situations because there's too much to carry as it is! Hope that helps - any more questions, just get back to me.. Nik
13. Thanks Shaun! Nick; will send you the pics later.. Nik
14. SOLD - thanks for looking
15. SOLD - thanks for looking!
16. Hi Folks, 'New year, new thinking' and all that, so I've decided to have a bit of a clear out... Some of these items are just a feeler at the moment but if someone wants to make an offer, then please do.. Just to be clear, prices below do not include shipping and as it's a while since i've sold something on Basschat, I realise I might be a bit off the mark with prices.. So I'm happy to listen to all sensible 'near offers'. Amps/Pre-amps/cabs

Markbass LMT 500: £SOLD
Reussenzehn Daniel D Bass Deluxe Tubebooster/valve pre-amp: £80
Pics: Postage etc I'm happy to ship stuff of course, but for anyone nearby to Littlehampton, you're very welcome to come and 'try before you buy'.. Just realised that all these items came to me via Basschat (or one of it's previous incarnations) - fancy that? So that's what I've been doing with all my spare time!! Any questions, please feel free to ask here or PM me.. In the meantime, thanks for looking! Nik
17. Hi Folks Thanks for the replies and good wishes.. Nice to see some 'resolutions' in there too! Shaggy - i was up THAT early because we had to travel to London for a family do; otherwise, this thread wouldn't have happened after the night before... Am back to work tomorrow sadly as I've enjoyed the break.. Cheers Nik
18. Not sure if there's another thread saying this but just to say a happy new year to all on Basschat! Have a good one.. Nik
19. BUMP for new price: £80 + p&p Happy New Year folks!
20. More details here: http://www.walbasses.co.uk/
21.
I knew Pete for 22 years and spent many happy hours at the workshop(s) and snooker club. A genuine, lovely, talented man. I will miss him very much, but both he and Wal leave a wonderful legacy in the instruments they gave to us.
+1 Well said Gareth! Like many here, i met Pete lots of times at the workshop(s) in High Wycombe starting way back in 1983 when I got my first Wal (that was a lovely bass that was..). Stories abound about how many times he repaired, restored, upgraded and worked on so many Wals long after he and Ian Waller had first made them. And usually all that work was done for only a token payment in return. It really was lifetime customer care! Pete and Ian respected their customers and made real friends of a lot of them and I think that's got as much to do with the amazing legacy that surrounds the instruments, as much as their uniqueness of design and tone and fantastic build quality, which of course was Pete's department.. RIP Pete. Thank you - you did us all proud! (P.S. if anyone hears news of the funeral and a collection, I'd be very keen to know and send something)
22. Another life-long Bowie fan here and yes, have to agree with all the praise for Mick Ronson. Moonage Daydream is pretty much my favourite guitar solo ever and that along with his string arrangements (particularly on Hunky Dory) secure Ronson's place as one of the best musicians of his generation IMHO. I absolutely loved this footage; Bowie at his best and it had so much energy and vitality when compared with say, some of the live performances you see these days on 'Later' for example.. What a great find!
23. +1 it sounded great at the West Sussex mini-Bash on Saturday!
24. +1 It was a great day; I have some photos to upload which I'll do later or tonight..
25. Yes - please come along!.. And feel free to bring some of your gear with you if you want? One of the main activities at a Bass Bash is getting together with like-minded people with a shared interest in 'all things bass'.. and having a chance to show off your gear, look at other people's basses/rigs/fx etc... Look forward to seeing you there..
