1.
Hey... thanks for the reply, man. Am currently negotiating on another I found shortly after I made the post, but please still connect, I may yet come back to it. Thanks muchly. mck.
No problem, I've sent him a PM with a link to this thread. Good luck and hope you score one, the FSR jazzes are awesome!
2.
You see, i don't really use the Bright control but it's always there if i want it. I'm more after the inherent tone of the EBS gear.
Sure, same here (again) though what the bright control can do for a nice 70's jazz is magic. Used or not, the inclusion of the bright filter to me indicates more similarity to the "full scale" EBS heads than if they had dropped it. Anyway, looking forward to testing one within short!
3.
S**t! I wish I'd seen this earlier. Am in the market to buy one of these right now.... so if anybody knows of another...
I think there's still an LPB (in great condition) one out on the Swedish bass forum pratabas.se, offered by a long time forumite. If you'd like I can connect the two of you.
4.
I love my hd350, and if this can replicate the sound i have currently without too much of a loss of volume i'm going to definitely be looking at it. Can't wait to actually have a go on one.
Same here! The fact that they kept the bright control looks very promising IMO.
5. I quite like the EBMM forum and its people, I am definitely a fan. Based on my experience since about a year back, I'm struggling to understand the negativity about it sometimes expressed on here, especially in view of it being a manufacturer's forum.
6. I quite liked the bridge sound, but the HH has nothing on a real SRHH imho. Cool basses, but I'd never be able to keep that aluminium good looking. In a colored finish I could be interested...
7. Upgraded my iPad to iOS 5 today, and now BC runs as smooth as ever!
8. A Bongo sounds like a great extension of your really nice EBMM collection!
9. Lovely bass, the illuminated logo on the headstock is just perfect! Gold hw might have been even sexier though...
10. Personally, I love the mids of the Aguilar and think the TC rolls off the high end too much, so between the two my choice would be dead simple. Am however very intrigued by the Streamliner, and will definitely check one out when given the opportunity.
11. An iPhone photo of my 57-RI that came out pretty nice: And without the covers:
12. Here's mine, I just love everything about this bass!
13. Mostly visit BC from my iPad 2 (running Safari) and quite often when I hit the "back" arrow there is a latency of a good 15-30sec before I get back to the previous side I was on. I'm on a 100Mbit connection and none of the other sites I frequent have this mischevious behaviour. This aside, the forum overall is also slightly slower overall for me than the old version - and slower than other bass forums. Mind, BC is still a wonderful place!
14. Here are my TecAmp cabs, one M212 and one L410. Both really great cabs with incredible clarity, punch and fullness when given let's say an EBMM Stingray, and still capable of nice warm mellow tones when handling a P-bass with flats. They both handle low B's effortlessly as well. I run the M212 (left in the pic below) with my trusty EBS HD350 head which is fed by an Ampeg SVT-IIp preamp (lovely!). Just got the L410, which will be a perfect match for my 1300W LabGruppen Lab1000 power amp, this also fed by an Ampeg SVT-IIp. The only slight negative I can think of is that the L410 is somewhat bulky (at least the trunk of my car gets pretty full) compared to the M212, but weight wise they are both easily manageable.
15. The new look has started to grow on me, and many of the new features are great! Good work!
16. That top wood is just gorgeous! Best of luck with the sale.
17. Enough with all the beautiful Roscoes already! Darn, they all look so sweet.
18. Amazing bass you have there my friend! We really should meet up sometime soon, halfway hoping this will stay in Sweden a while longer... Jens is a top guy with impeccable taste in basses - deal with confidence!
19. Wow, that's just amazing! Lovely how the fretboard and top wood go together. Congratulations in advance, bet you can't wait to take it for a spin!
20. Here's my SB-R80, my first ever bass - a 1982 build I bought 2nd hand in 1984. It's actually the third time I own it, have been daft enough to sell it twice, but also lucky enough to get the chance to get it back both times - though the first time it took about 18 years... It's not going anywhere anymore though!! Totally awesome bass!! Oh, and it's been played by Jonas Hellborg at a Swedish bass bash.
21. Hello my friend, nice to see you on here!
22. That's reeeeally quick, hope you get some more in progress shots - even though the finished result will do as well. I hope someday one of these fancy top Roscoes come my way...
23. I think I'm about to give up - not on DR but on trying out different brands. I find myself repeating what I did in the 90's only to come to the conclusion that I just love the tone and feel of DR Fat Beams - to me they're simply the best there is. However, in the event that I come across more duff strings I will complain with my dealer (Strings and Beyond - great service there) or contact DR directly. Also very glad to see DR interacting in this thread.
