Well, I plugged it into the computer today and blundered around doing stuff 'til some sounds came out. Some feedback: The manual could do with a "Hello World!" section, describing how to connect for the first time and get a sound out. The app could use an indicator that it has connected to the FI, or maybe a "Check connection" menu option. I tried using a small Akai LPK25 USB keyboard and it worked on one run of 4. (I was running it on a Windoze 10 laptop.)

A Precision through an Ampeg SVT can sound pretty aggressive. (Mind you, anything through an Ampeg SVT can!)

None of them - the answer is a Rickenbacker! Playing along, though; I do like the growl of a Warwick and the MM has some welly, so I guess the answer must be the Wal!

Darn - there's a Rickenbacker doubleneck on ebay for $20k, so I don't think I'll have any loose change left over for this one.

On a separate topic, beware that Chickenbacker bridges are being offered as Rickenbacker replacements; they are not compatible and are unsuitable for a real Ric and a 70s faker.

That's the reissue; the one Squire played didn't have the same tailpiece. There are 3 visual differences: two screws and the shape of the bridge saddles. (So it won't be identical...) I believe the reissue treble pickup doesn't have horseshoe magnets either. And one more thing - the screws will be slotted heads... So, you can re-finish it to look like the CS reissue, but not identical to his actual one. Oh, plus I think his had the two screw holes for the tug-bar (though the pickguard may have been replaced at some point).

Or just the wood glue (I keep seeing the name Titebond, which I guess is a brand name for something generic) which will be used to hold on the fretboard.

800 is too much - let that one go. I do fancy a Kay - it's a pile of junk worth <£100 (though some will try and inflate the price), but I'd like one anyway.

Well, if someone is bumping up the price of something in the hope of conning someone out of their money, then I would happily snitch on them. It's often said that you make your profit when you buy, not when you sell, so if someone has a shop and isn't making a profit then they're buying too high and it's pretty shabby charging excessive amounts to have someone else cover the cost of their mistakes. If they're charging £100+ more than it takes to buy and import from AliExpress then dob away!

Good luck with it. 🙂 With mine, the thread inside the pullers was stripped. The issue with the thumbwheels is that I think there's a lip where they contact the bridge body there; the plastic washers might work. The replacement one I got was badly made and the lid over the puller cavity sat too low, so the pullers wouldn't retract inside. I put vaseline on the screw threads, which makes operation a bit smoother. The guitar neck's one also has issues. I guess there's a reason why the quality units cost a lot more.

I've got a Steinberger Spirit - that's quite light. Slightly up-market, my Status Graphite wooden necked S1 is quite light.
