1. Great news! I bet soloing the bridge pickup happens often! Being quad coils, they still sound punchy and huge in the bridge position, love 'em!
2. I'd go with Public Peace just because they call their P & J's Elwood & Jake. Yup.
3. Here's my Koa and Birdseye Maple Century Standard Plus, that arrived today.
4. Damn gorgeous looking bass!
I don't think I'll ever need another bass (... Or maybe I could find room for a Century 6 with J pups...?)
Yes sir, yes you could.
5. I've had regular dealings with Rocket Music in America, (http://www.rocketmusic.net/) always stellar service, and killer bass gear.
6.
Me neither!!! For a long time I thought flats = indistinct tone loved by old farts who can't hear the top end anyway (now I'll go and hide from the stones some will want to throw at me because of the previous sentence...) The OLP last night was great. And yes, you can definitely play "blackeyed blonde" with flats and sound tremendous! I did miss the preamp a bit... no biggie, but yes, this bass will end up "activated".
Heh, we all think silly things from time to time. I once believed 5ers were the stupidest invention ever, and you'd want to be completely daft to even consider one...
7. I need to drop some Chromes, or maybe TI's on my SX-Ray.
8.
In transit! Excited!
Awwww yeah!
9.
is it Her ?
That bass! IIRC it's one of a kind made for him, the Octalogue, so bloody awesome, would love one.
10. Yeah, great choice with the Black Beauties!
11. That metallic black pickguard is mighty!
12. I don't think there is a too much, long as you love the parts of the bass you're leaving stock. I have a pair of SX basses, one is a MM with replaced bridge, electronics, pickup and string retainer, mods cost more than the bass, love it completely. The other, a starter pack P Bass(my first bass), which I replaced the pickup, added a bridge pickup, and a Kahler trem bridge, each separate part cost more than the bass, couldn't be happier with the outcome.
13. I almost picked up a black one off "teh bay" a while back, love the look of them.
