1. You can get the new style in brass too, but they're bloody pricey.
2. Who cares if it's "just a variation" when it's a variation on awesome? Eh?
3. I'm not sure if anyting was applied to my bass stock, but it doesn't feel like it, I tried the conditioner stuff that I use on fretboards, but it made it feel awful.
4. Wenge necks are fantastic, very solid and feel great.
5.
That's really really nice man! Is that a VM5 Supreme then? It's the necks that have always really sold 'bergs to me. The best thing about the hardware upgrade is the bridge saddles. The locking screw used to be at an angle on the inside of the saddle (hope that makes sense!) so you had to remove the string to get to it. I believe they're now more easily accessible. It was always about my only design gripe with Sandberg! Hope you enjoy it!
Yup! A Supreme, I'm loving it more and more. I get you and the saddles, I have basses with that setup, and it's just awkward, these are fantastic, nothing is in anythings way.
6. I already want a second, so I can have one with flats too!
7. That'd be amazing, a pair of wee buttons hidden in the headstock or some such, one flicks through colours, and the other swaps to transparent.
8. My 'Berg arrived today, and man am I happy! The neck is magic, true magic, Plek'd too, that's a hell of a surprise! The sound is fantastic too, won't be screing about adding switches that's for sure! Also, the Thomann pics aren't up to date, I got a new one, with them sweet new knobs with the guide marks. Treble and bass were reversed to what I expected, but it makes sense, as I find I'll be using the treble/tone a lot more. Feels good to be playing a P again. 9. Hmmmm, they've managed to pretty much remove all the interesting features.
10. Man, that is gorgeous. After seeing the body though, if it were me, I wouldn't be able to have it painted.
11. Something very similar happened to me this weekend, installing a Aguilar OBP-3, right down to the crackling wires, though I had no blend. In my case, it was the volume pot itself that was wrecked(possibly overheated when soldering), once I swapped it out for another one I had handy, everything was perfect.
