1.
Just a quick question, as I'm genuinely interested to know. Yes he's certainly looking at the neck, but what is it about the pic that convinces you he's staring at it? For all we know, that could quite easily have been the first time he looked at it all night.
Keep watching, he's not moving at all.
2. So, no UK eh? I wonder is it for less hassle, or is it shifting the goal posts to make it less likely to get the 125.......
3.
Yeah I just re-read and realised that, damn you for quoting me before I deleted my post haha. I thought the quote from the original post would explain it better so I just removed my whole post.
I move quick, unless it requires actual physical speed or effort! I probably should have posted the whole quote at the start, cheers for that.
4.
BP isn't making it easy though, there has to be enough people that wants a black bass with a rosewood board.
You can have maple, rather than rosewood.
5. It would be ridiculous, indeed, which is why I wouldn't bank on it working out that way.
6.
And how much would retail/standard SR5 cost? ha. Might go for the single H meself.
1500 usd, for the US buyers, IIRC, I don't know how it'd work out for someone buying it here direct from them, weather they'd charge more, or just import tax and the usual from importing axes.
7.
Any ideas on pricing? I am very tempted and I have the money!
Same as a standard SR5, but it could be at retail, I don't know. EDIT, won't be long before it's up on that link, they said Tuesday, but I dunno if that's Tuesday today, or in a weeks time.
8.
Or do they think they do because of threads telling them if they are moving from a four they must have exactly the same as there four string bass?
Bit of both. I know some people who it physically hurts to play too tight string spacing for any length of time. I know some people who it physically hurts to play too wide string spacing for any length of time, too. Some it's just a tech issue, like them double thumpy fellows. Some I imagine like familiarity between their instruments. Some may just want to be cool. Some may just be following the pack, I suppose, I don't really know.
9.
You can order and buy direct from EBMM, ask musicman20. Not really something that bothers me anyway I'm happy for different basses to feel different, Jazz feels like a jazz, ray feels like a ray etc it's all part of the fun for me.
Personally I actually prefer medium spacing to wide, but it seems a lot of guys need that room.
10. Maybe when it's themselves it might be different. Oh, and H or HH is an option.
11. Supposedly you'll be able to buy them right from the site, here. http://store.music-man.com/home/index/574.3
12. EBMM said they'll do a run of them(and make it a standing option), if they can get 125 orders for one in the next two weeks. Black finish, maple or rosewood fretboard. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/poll-shou...spacing-780290/ Check here starting at post 224.
13.
Blame that guy if you don't like the Warwick thumb SC, he designed it with his friend Pretty good tone though, (even though i sense many won't care for what he plays haha) Everytime i see that ACG it looks nicer and nicer, whats the top/face wood?
Definitely think it's one of the worse looking SC's, but dang does it sound great!
14. This thread is all about the sexy basses, eh? Man I love everything in this thread! Here's my beloved Roscoe SKB 3005. And my Traben Tribal Sun, though I understand it's a bit gaudy for most tastes.
15. Gorgeous! What a top! I'd love to try one of them out someday.
16. Yup, sparkly bassses are awesome! I got one of the pink sparkle Corts, love it.
17. Gorgeous looking bass too!
18.
that's not too bad to my eyes...i think the slimness of the body offsets the extra wood for the singlecut.
That's what I like about it, even with the extra wood, it's still slinky and streamlined.
19.
Wood & Tronics Chronos 5:
Always loved the look of the Chronos. The Benevente single cut ain't bad either.
20. It's funny, guitar builders spent a lot of time thinking of how to add cutaways for playability. Now they're removing them again..... progress in reverse.
21. If you could find an old Lakland 55-76, you'd be sorted. Nordstrand are planning on doing a 5er with a single MM pickup and their new 2 band MM pre, which will be available in 19mm spacing.
22. That white SKB is truly gorgeous, I've seen it before, somewhere. Gives me serious GAS, always wanted a white Roscoe.
23. I greatly enjoyed looking through this thread, stunning basses by everyone.
