I was in the workshop of a well known UK luthier a while back. There was a can of Pledge sitting around.
Same here. Lavender scented variety for me.
Yup, $285, (£180), absurd. Thanks a lot for the link, what controls are in it, is it only bass and attack?
Yep, just the gain & attack. Does seem high, but there again compare that to a ZVex Woolly Mammoth, & I guess the guy who builds them has got to make a living too.

I guess you're after something like this Viva Analog supply the PCB & build instructions fo $55 & the pedal for $285 Here's a link to a better schematic for the fuzz Freestompboxes Forum - Acoustic 360 Fuzz Shouldn't be a particularly difficult build for anyone who does pedals.
MIJ/CIJ for me is the way to go. I have 2 jap fenders which are a million times better than any American or Mex ones I've ever played.
+1. Me too, don't think I'd ever go back to any MIA, unless I found a really good one. Regarding Mex Fender; would rather have a good MIJ or VM Squier TBH.

By coincidence I quit my band last night too! Plenty of other bands around, something better will turn up. Good idea to register with bandmix, musofinder, join my band, etc.. Updating my profile this evening. Good luck mate.

Another option if you want to keep the CS-3 is to get it modded. I did the Ovnilab mod to one I had - totally transformed it. Use a Multicomp now, but definitely rate the modded CS-3, will probably buy another one at some stage & mod it again.
Many thanks! New development: changed the battery and now there is nothing but a brief flash of life as the cable goes in! There's life in the old girl, but it's being bypassed somewhere. The mystery continues. I have heard Boss are very hard to get any info out of as well. La di da
Hi, Noticed you're in Bristol. Depending on where you are, more than happy to have a look at this for you. By no means an expert, but I've built & fixed a few pedals in my time. PM me if needed. Cheers

*SOLD - PENDING PAYMENT* Peavey Centurion MKIII Amp & 1x15 Cab Bought this locally a little while ago. My V-Type rig was out on loan & I needed something (temporarily) to gig with. It works fine, loud & sounds pretty good - would like to keep it as a back-up, but (according to the boss) we don't have the space. The head is a loud 130watts; Two channels, with ability to automix both & a very flexible Parametric EQ section. Two speaker outs. The cab is 1x15. Don't know the make, but it handles the amp fine, doesn't fart etc.. & it's not as too bulky or heavy as my TE 1153. Its in not bad codition, but there are a few scuffs & scrapes - though nothing highly noticeable. £110 o.n.o. Pickup from Bristol, I can possibly drop-off locally. I could also post, but not sure of the cost. Please PM me if interested, if you have any questions, offers etc... Thanks
Kimbara J for £20??? Anyway, £20 is a steal, as would £50 have been. Lovely bass and please take more pics! Jon.
I know Jon... was quite surprised I bagged it at £50, as most decent vintage Japcrap seems to get flagged up on here now. Guess Kimbara, may not be on everyone's radar yet. You can probably recall, Mayas for example going cheap a couple years ago, then a few peple start mentioning them on forums etc... Not that familiar with Kimbara myself, but you're right it does have a 'quality' feel to it. Dare I say more than a lot of the other Jazz copies I've had, exception being Tokai. I know of a local respected guitarist who also raves over his Kimbara strat copies. Anyway here's a few more pics for you -
I used a trace 4x12" with a Mk V putting out a theoretical maximum 90w and it was very, very loud. Their cabs are beasts as well ......
+1 to that. Beasts to carry also! Can shake the room with this when I need to, only 300w!
The The were magic Infected may be the best slice of Thatcher era commentary on England an interesting cat was Mr Johnson and for the second time on this site I ask; do anyone know what sort of Bass James Eller played on the Mind Bomb tour? that's the gigs with Johnny Marr thanks
I seem to recall it was this (Lorimer Geilgud Custom) ?
I've thought the same thing (Alembic F2B in a box...no valves?)
Alembic F2B is supposed to be similar. You could always get someone to build one for you Alembic F2B schematic. Along with the SFT, there's also the 'Flipster'. One on here for sale at the moment. Next on my list of pedal builds. ..... Also the Barber Linden EQ, if you're after more of the tone rather than any drive.
....For this reason I'd strongly recommend looking after this bass, don't alter anything (especially the logo!) and keep it in good condition.
+100 - cherish that bass. I had a 70's Maya 4001S copy. It was beautifully made, total quality & great sounding. Unfortunately, I don't get on with Rickenbackers, but it did sell for a very good price, with many offers.
......the Squier is a nice bass BUT I would guess that the Fender version would be better.
Not necessarily. If your 1989 Squier is a good one (most were), I'd definitely hold on to it. You can always upgrade the pickups, if you feel the need to.
