  1. That looks really good! I’m also enjoying the “Changing Rooms” updates in the background!!
  2. Do a NCD post when it arrives, please!
  3. Pretty good figures there! I like the white 1x12. The 1x10 is tiny!
  4. And the wadding is there to cushion the sound, and also make it “warmer”.
  5. True, the spare sound drops to the bottom, but that’s why most lightweight cabs have ports there - to let all the heavy notes out. That’s why port size is so critical - if you let too much sound out, the cab simply floats away. At least, that’s my understanding of it all.
  6. Looks ace, but I’d address the fabric ripples. Maybe try removing the grill and putting a hot hair dryer to it? Failing that pull the staples out and start again. Sorry for the negativity- it really is an ace looking cab!
  7. I went off this for a bit after the ugliness of the routing! Thankfully, a @KiOgon loom and a three hole tele plate turned up and I’m excited to get it finished 😎
  8. There’s the new hifi speakers sorted! No more packing your gig stuff away during the week.
  9. That’s awesome! Love that it’s so refreshingly different!
  10. How much is your not much? I couldn’t find any (obvious) pricing on a quick search.
  11. Nice! What finish is that?
  12. The first one I ever did 20yrs ago I parted out. 2nd was a bitsa P so doesn’t count. I’m hoping I’ll do an alright job of number 3...
  13. Fretless? Also neckless! 🤣 Thats a lovely sheen on lovely grain though.
  14. Champagne gold, gun metal grey - something metallic I reckons.
  15. I’ve never played one, nor am I familiar with the brand, but just looking at the pictures then scrolling up to the price I spat out my tea (or would have done had I been drinking it) when I saw the price - £130 smackers for that? Is there a zero missing?!
  16. Is that to get that woolly tone?
  17. If the neck was bowed with four strings on it, I can’t see it getting better under the increased tension of eight!
  18. Just found the ad 😍. I have a BF Two10, and don’t envisage ever swapping that out, so the 550 is a good match! Its like the Hohner Jack all over again - if it’s still there in April I will have it! Btw - a @KiOgon VVT passive loom in the Hohner has really brought the pups to life 😎.
  19. Well I just put a jazz neck on a Talman body, so I say Go for it and work the details out as you hit the stumbling blocks. You could keep the neck, fill the 6 holes and put a laminate either side, then redrill for the four bass tuners. The only concern is what is under the trem plate? Which isn’t a concern if you were going to refinish anyway I guess.
  20. That’s a looker, that! How’s the output on the E & G strings? They look close to the edges of the pickup.
  21. Call me strange (you won’t be the first) but I quite like the look of obscure 70’s cheapo basses, and I like the look of this too! Like warped vintage I guess. What does the headstock looks like? Me likely the blue....
  22. It’s kind of Art Deco-ish. Bloody loves it! There don’t appear to be any bass bashes before you go to Italy, so maybe have one out there in the summer and we can all visit?
  23. Oh, hang on - that’s not a bass!
  24. My favourite colour combo!
  25. Attendance & Gear List: 1. @Frank Blank’s Acoustic Corner - Godin A4, Rob Allen Mouse, Ibanez SRC6, QSC K12.2, Helix Stomp, HX Edit. 2. @Rich's Garden Of Delights - Shuker custom 5, Tanglewood acoustic 4, EBS Neo 2x12 & probable new amp (tbc) - both basses strung with nickel Elixirs. Possibly some FS stuff, details tbc once it hits the paid Marketplace. 3. @wrinkleygit, Jabba’s Semi Hollow Fretless, ‘72 Gibson EB0, SWR Working Mans 10 combo & 1x10 ext cab & a set of h’phones. Both basses strung with Labella flats 4. @scrumpymike Setting aside a bunch of FS stuff to give SW Bashers first shot and minimise packing and shipping work/costs. Unless cash flow dictates earlier sale, this will include: a couple of BF cabs (either SC Gen 3s or Two10s, to be decided); BF One10; Maruszczyk Elwood 30" scale; Spector Bantam if still unsold (already posted FS); Eden WT550 if still unsold (already posted FS); Ampeg PF800. 'Keepers' also on display will be: the other pair of BF cabs; my no. 1 gig bass 'Rascal Mervyn-Lyte; 'Rascal Lyte Mkll - provided I can decide what it's going to be in time for AndyJr to build it; my no 1 gig amp (Subway 800+); my old no 1 gig amp (Genzler Magellan 800). All of which will hopefully bring forward the day when Mrs Scrumpy can finally join her old man in retirement 😁 5. @Pea Turgh My Frankenstein Jazzguarman(!) strung with D’Addario XL Chrome flats. My black bitsa (same strings). Probably my Peterson combo which I’ll flit between selling and not selling (still). 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. “Stick a black and decker drill on the end, and I can make it through walls, baby!” Ps @scrumpymike - I’m eyeing up that Eden amp!
