I had the Vox standard bass with a dimarzio in that position. Sounded nice to my ear for aggressive stuff.

Bloody marvellous all round. I'm a sucker for jazz flute!

That's what it says on the head! I think it's one of their parlour size ones. My mate has one and it sounds good. Not expensive either.

The Scarlett is an audio interface, the notepad is just a mixer unless it's radically different to my Power Pad. How are you connecting it to the Mac exactly? Edit: it is radically different and has Usb out. Probably needs setting up on the Mac as a different audio device and maybe it's own drivers loading. I don't use Mac, so am no authority though!

Ok, Trivium posted a clip of their track of the same name about the same time. Maybe that's it?

I guess it's possible. I'll try a search on Scattering the Ashes. Thanks folks!

America-land mainly. Which is nice. But odd all the same.

This is a weird thing. I put the occasional tune from the Basschat composition challengeso on my soundcloud, don't go out of my way to publicise or anything and get a handful of listens on each tune typically. Oneof my tunes from a couple of months ago has somehow amassed nearly 400 plays and I have no clue what this is due to. The tune the month after had the usual 40 odd plays. I'm baffled, does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Just spotted this thread after posting in the what are you listening to thread: Learning Senses Working Overtime by XTC for some kind of remote collaboration with my label boss in California. No idea what it's for!
-
What are you listening to right now?

Overwater underrated or overrated?
MoonBassAlpha replied to fiatcoupe432's topic in General Discussion
I guess most of the pit players play seated! -
If any of the broken leg is accessible, you might be able to blob some solder on to bridge the broken section. I do all this kind of thing under a microscope, and appreciate not everyone has access to such.

Is it surface mount or does it have legs?

May Composition Challenge--VOTING TIME
MoonBassAlpha replied to lurksalot's topic in General Discussion
Well deserved Lenny! I think I called this one early. It's the kind of thing I'd probably listen to even if I didn't HAVE to! -

Yeah, the general feel is quite dark. You weren't expecting that? -
Anyone tried this for scratchy pots?
MoonBassAlpha replied to ClassicVibes's topic in General Discussion
Try pulling gently on the pot as you rotate it. If this improves it, it could be a mechanical rather than electrical problem, I. E. The pot wiper contacts aren't acting on the track with sufficient pressure. -

I would say it's a stronger crop this month. Will need a few listens to sort this one, though my favourite at first listen was Lenny's -
I've got one of these in my rehearsal studio. Very solid!

I've done a new mix as I wasn't happy with the balance of the last one, brought out the percussion and phased guitar a little more. No more faffing around now!:

I'm in at last! Like many people, I was initially amused by the video "how to play a groove in 13/8". Hmm, I thought...🙄 I wouldn't exactly call it a groove though, and it does have bits of 6/8 too 🤪 May 2020 BassChat composition challenge entry. I didn't make it easy for myself, the timing is somewhat fluid in places. At least you can tell it's not programmed on a grid. Features a first appearance of my new guiro (on the left), kindly made for me by my good friend Timi Sp8. all done in Reaper again, Godin Solidac phased guitar, Gordon-Smith 12-string electric, US Masters fretless bass bass and US Masters (with flats) "Lead" bass with a bit of octave on.

How about the Behringer X18 and a cheap tablet? The Xr16 will record direct to a memory stick, but only the stereo master outputs. The x18 will record all tracks separately, output via Usb, but you'd have to use a daw to gobble that output up. I don't think there's a way you can write all your tracks directly to a stick

The Kramer is not a bass I'd recommend if you don't like clanky!

Well done Bob, well deserved. You clearly put 1000% more effort into yours and it shows! I voted for it, good work that man! -
