Love that Steamer Stage 1 6 string - can't believe it's a broadneck too! I have a 90 Streamer Stage I 5 string with broadneck and Barts and it's a beast! The neck is so comfy and the spacing is perfect but can't get my head round 6 strings at that spacing!! I'm guessing yours is mid-90s? Barts or EMG?

What a beauty! These basses are just incredible, the pups have super high output and the necks are very comfy

depending on how precious the bass is to you, could you not drill 3 small holes in the back of the neck to take the guess work out of how much wood you have to play with. If you drilled the hole(using the smallest drill bit you can find) at even intervals above where the truss rod would sit then you can check how deep the cavity is along the entire length of the neck and then go from there. You could easily fill these holes at the end of the project and colour match to suit.

Help with electronics for 1989 Warwick thumb

IIRC that shielded cable will be the output from the volume pot to the jack. The inner part of the cable(carrying the signal) goes to the inner tag of the jack and the outer part(providing the shielding) can be grounded anywhere - looks like it was possibly earthed on to the case of the concentric treb/bass pot- 10 replies

Shirley you can't be serious? None of those headstocks are matching - they are all different colours shapes and sizes!!! 😉

I dont see any issue there, im more concerned with the placement of the straplock on the upper horn - just WTF????

I hate you and I am not at all jealous! 🤤

you can have pickups that require volts through them to work but you can also have passive pickups used within an active circuit. we would really need to know which pups you have or see the back of the pickups and a shot inside the control cavity. also, why do you want to go from active to passive?

is it missing a bridge by an chance?

well, to be fair, it probably could cover a pickup. honestly, some BCers are so fussy and so keen to split hairs! 🤣

Also agree. The black wire needs to connect to the largest lug(in the centre between the white and purple) on the output jack. The schematics for all Warwick basses are available on their website.

Even better is that the bass is currently strung through-body so enjoy changing those strings lol

It certainly does need Throwing off a Large Cliff...

They don't build them like this anymore....

I think it may have started as Vester or whatever that cheap brand was that made shoddy looking Warwick copies. They had the right idea cutting off the head but it should then have either been burned or buried... -
Surely mentioned on here before now?

I messaged him on Monday: just so I can be 100% certain, was this bass actually produced by the Fender Custom Shop? You mention in your listing "Custom Shop" and a "Custom Shop" decal but Im not sure why you are putting these details in quoatation marks? He replied yesterday: I’m not too sure if it is. It has the logo on the back of the headstock but no certificate. I put it in quotation marks because I’m not sure. Make your own mind up about how honest he is... -
That NE2 is off the scale!
-
Sand it smooth, nothing to lose. It won't hurt the bass and if its the only thing wrong with it. It won't make anything worse that's for sure

Shouldn't be any customs fees if you buy and live within the EU

Ah you see now, it's a Fender "Custom Shop" according to the listing. Definitely not to be confused with a Fender Custom Shop and I am sure the seller has made that perfectly clear so as not to accidentally trick people in to thinking otherwise...🤔 -
cracking looking bass! I hope @Marcoelwray doesnt see it though as I fear there is a little to much light reflecting from the finish 😛
