  1. It's robust enough for Warwick to use. This method is a version of how they finish their "natural oil" basses. See here for my results using this method... And here:
  2. I would recommend using Warwick wax. Once the surface is clean and ready to be finished, it's pretty much idiot proof to apply. Apply a generous amount to a large clean lint free cloth that has been folded several times. Heat the wax and the cloth using a hot plate - I use a George Foreman. Once the wax is melted and the cloth is hot, simply rub it into the body and the neck. Rinse and repeat until you have applied it to the whole of the body and neck and it looks and even colour(the oils in the wax will darken the wood slightly as they are absorbed) make sure to keep the cloth hot as you apply the melted wax - the heat will help the oils penetrate the wood. Leave the bass for a few hrs to allow the oils in the wax to soak in to the wood and then do it all again. After 24hrs use another clean lint free cloth to wipe off any excess wax - you can also then polish the finish or not depending on how matt you want it.
  3. What kind of neck joint is that. Doesn't look like any kind of set neck I've ever seen before. Beautiful bass and GLWTS
  4. Good Lord that is a rather tasty looking bass! I don't normally like single cuts but this is gorgeous. Build quality looks first rate as well. GLWYS
  5. Wow, looks like a very high quality instrument for not a lot of money! GLWTS
  6. Also try Interparcel for great rates and insurance coverage up to £2000 - depending on carrier. Also, this bass is excellent quality and, at this price, crazy value for money!
  7. These basses are incredible. Very versatile and incredible build quality. Bargain!
  8. What a beauty! Yeah defo a mkI. The IIs have soapbar pups where as all the Is had jazz pups. This is probably the first 4 string I've seen for sale from the original series. Top quality Japanese craftsmanship and killer tones. I had a 4 and a 5 string II and loved both
  9. Super comfy then and compliments the wider spacing perfectly. Around £7000 to buy one of these new today!!!
  10. Because they are Warwick! I have a 1990 Stage 1 broadneck with Bartolinis and adore the neck and spacing! What's the profile like on this? Mine is quite a thin D profile
  11. Could well be, couldn't find any mention of it on tinternet though...
  12. Are the photos showing properly for everyone? To me they look stretched which is a shame as it looks like a nice bass but hard to say exactly from what i can see...
  13. Sensible offers considered
  14. Yep, looks like every piece of Ovangkol I've ever owened or seen and ive owned a lot. So actually in this case I say the spec sheet is erroneous
  15. Final price drop to £3100 shipped anywhere in the world - fully tracked and insured
  16. Looks like it could be good value for money if you're in the market... Look at this on eBay https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202776756230
  17. The bass is still for sale...
  18. I would be more worried about the neck issues personally...
  19. Thanks for the heads-up on this bargain, I just brought it. Really looking forward to getting my hands on it. I'm not familiar with the brand but I'll assume it was a bargain because of your post. Thanks again
  20. Apparently this Warwick Thumb is made in Japan but you can read the description and see for yourself - it should be fairly obvious... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F254328750196
  21. Don't all NT Thumbs have 3 band EQs? Another custom option would be the brass JAN I. Great looking bass. NT Thumbs have a piano like clarity that only my Ritter Roya can match. They also have one of the tightest Bs in the game!
  22. Is this sarcasm? He fully details the condition of each part of the bass and everything he has changed. He even says you can try before you buy. How is that not trustworthy,???
