Hi all . I hadn’t picked a bass up since I was 19 and I’m 56 now but due to being furloughed I decided to record some songs that I’d written . I need a bass and found this on Facebook market place for an absolute snip at £25 reduced from £100. It’s got some scars and the neck was all over the place but after a total strip download clean and professional set up I must says that it now plays like a dream and sounds great . The guy who was selling it was moving house and didn’t play and just wanted rid of it . It had brand new strings on it which he put on to help sell and a very newish Fender strap. There is no identification on it apart from Tanglewood and as I wanted to find out something about this range of basses I contacted them and they sent me pictures from their 1997 brochure with my bass type in it . They told me that it was probably made between 96 and 99. Now I can’t put it down and I’m enjoying bass playing again . Has anyone else got one and what’s your views . By the way we spent more than £25 the night before when recording on pizzas and beer .

I play upright double bass, have done for too many years, at present i play and sing in a trashy/punkabilly 4 piece, always listening to good quality Psychobilly, or Django, bit of indie, and a few other genres, but slowly becoming tired of it all, have a late 3/4 size bass, but still looking for something a lot older (i regret selling my 55')
That's about it!

50 years ago today I was released from hospital after a motorbike crash on 20th May. Got home and opened the garage to see my wreck and cried!
Still here 😉

Accidentally purchased Vulfpeck Beautiful Game CD when trying to buy the vinyl on Discogs. Looking to pass it on.

My band is learning "It's my life" by Talk Talk, so I've re-learnt it some 36 years after I originally learned to play it

Recording over lockdown. Like everyone else, I found myself without a band and so recorded some stuff on my own. Stuck it on Soundclod and here it is. Under the name of 154.
Hope the link is working!
