I hadn’t picked a bass up since I was 19 and I’m 56 now but due to being furloughed I decided to record some songs that I’d written . I need a bass and found this on Facebook market place for an absolute snip at £25 reduced from £100. It’s got some scars and the neck was all over the place  but after a total strip download clean and professional set up I must says that it now plays like a dream and sounds great . The guy who was selling it was moving house and didn’t play and just wanted rid of it . It had brand new strings on it which he put on to help sell and a very newish Fender strap. There is C278E457-E346-44AD-9948-8B38AEE75259.thumb.jpeg.3ed45724a348c94bfce2c9f9f124745c.jpegno identification on it apart from Tanglewood and as I wanted to find out something about this range of basses I contacted them and they sent me pictures from their 1997 brochure with my bass type in it . They told me that it was probably made between 96 and 99. Now I can’t put it down and I’m enjoying bass playing again . Has anyone else got one and what’s your views . By the way we spent more than £25 the night before when recording on pizzas and beer .

  7. I play upright double bass, have done for too many years, at present i play and sing in a trashy/punkabilly 4 piece, always listening to good quality Psychobilly, or Django, bit of indie, and a few other genres, but slowly becoming tired of it all, have a late 3/4 size bass, but still looking for something a lot older (i regret selling my 55')

    That's about it!

  8. 50 years ago today I was released from hospital after a motorbike crash on 20th May. Got home and opened the garage to see my wreck and cried!
