Stuck a piece of sponge under my strings and am trying to learn I Want You Back. Thrashing away in a metal band is all well and good but it's high time I learned how to actually play bass. Harder than it looks isn't it?

Another lockdown tweak done... added a HF tweeter and crossover to my wee Behringer 60w 1x12 rehearsal combo. Mud, begone!

Finally caved. MIM classic 50’s P bass purchased on reverb last night. The mrs is gonna go absolutely ape! 😬

Top confidence booster: open your front door and noodle loudly for one minute at 7.59pm every Thursday.

Hmmm... I'm not certain Fender are correct here.
My P bass HMB uses 1/16" allen key for the saddles.
0.07" (70 thou) doesn't really exist as a size... there's 0.7mm (for M1.5 / M2 machine screws)
Fender has the 0.05" (50 thou) one for strat saddles
closest sizes are
1/16" .0625" 1.587mm
5/64" .0781" 1.984mmHave you tried a 1/16" ?

Just found out my aunt has died from the Corona virus...

Really digging some Blondie basslines in this lockdown. Nigel Harrisons tone in Dreaming in particular is lovely. Definitely flatwounds right?

Found a picture of my old bass and now I want it back...I know who has it.
Bugger.

Just ordered a new bench vice and a bunch of new HSS bits. Barely managed to resist the temptation to splash out on a pillar drill. Oh, the excitement of isolation.
-
Shock admissions - 2 of 'em. Just caught The Motors 'Airport' on radio 2 (that's the 2 admissions).
What an excellent bass track -well thought out, tasteful, drives the song along - in fact it is the song. Bass is really forward in mix and take it away, the track would collapse.
Well, there we go then -
Well flap me sideways, I've done it again. How nice. 3 times in the last 4 days.

Given the current confinement i've just upgraded to some slightly more proper speakerage on my desk. It's nice to not have any latency when trying to play through VST's.

Ooh, I won the day. Yay me!
Do I win £5?

My two year old daughter has a clear preference for her favourite bass... based on sound not looks!!!

Just been advised my `National Drivers Offender Retraining Scheme` is postponed for at least 12 weeks. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse.
