Surprising when you consider the noise they make that each and every guitar is scientifically tuned, just as if they were real musical instruments.

  8. I play bass, guitar, and 8-string ukulele in a duo called Blue Yonder. We play 60s and 70s classic rock with great joy.  We also build (mostly) bass guitars and love to read what others know and do themselves.  I have been playing since I was 15 (a very long time ago) with various groups and as a solo.  I consider being able to play and sing, and now build, to be the great gifts of my life.

    I have and use:

    Fender Mustang

    Mensinger Joker B Custom

    Rickenbacker 4006

    Gibson EB0

    Hofner 500/1

Blue Phoenix B001, Blue Phoenix B002

    Kamaka H8

  9. some mold has appeared in my music room, any ideas how dangerous this might be for my basses? Keep em in the case instead of hanging on a nearby wall?

  10. Today is a very, very good day. :)

    (for non-musical reasons)

  11. Is it wrong to be proud of the fact I made my drummer physically sick with the high SPL of my Trace Elliot TE1200 + Barefaced Super Twin rig? 😲

Not at all.  You should tell him he's lucky you didn't play the brown note.

  12. Hi. Picked up my first guitar at age 15, way back in '65 (when everybody of my vintage seemed to have started), and have had them all over the intervening years. All-time favourite  was a Japanese Epiphone Casino Elitist...wish I'd never parted with it.

Played up until 2 years ago when I decided it was time to give bass a go before it was too late!   Started at the deep end with a Schecter Stiletto Studio 6 thinking it would be a cinch as it had the same number of strings. Soon learnt my lesson!  I've tried a few basses, and have settled (temporarily) on an Epiphone Thunderbird '60s Vintage Pro, and a Warwick Rockbass Streamer LX 4. I'm frantically searching for the Warwick Adam Clayton Signature Rockbass version, but alas, they're no longer making them. I use Rotosound 66 Nickels and DR Sunbeams, plus a Warwick Gnome setup and a little old Fender Rumble 40.

I'm an old rocker from way back 😎 Great fan of Jan Akkerman, Dave Gilmour, Sting, Sir Paul McCartney and U2 (Adam Clayton in particular).

That's about it in a nutshell. Thanks for taking the time to read this 👍

  14. I have just found out that there is a place in Victoria, Australia, called 'Tittybong'.

Now THAT sounds like a fabulous evening.

  15. Incoming NBD... an itch I couldn't resist scratching, but I fear I might regret it...

  16. If one were to woo a lady with a succession of Reggae songs, where might be a good place to start?  Without being too direct. I feel a good term would be blatant subtlety which i coincidentally may have just come up with yet cannot fully explain. I have no idea what i'm doing except steering towards the little bit of light at the end of this dark tunnel

      Getting smoochy now...

I'm liking these suggestions a lot.  @Thump; I reckon with these you might go from a solid woo to a respectable woohoo.

Best wishes for you and your lady.

To the right of the Basschat homepage there is a box that says "What's on your mind?".  You can type your Status Update directly into it.

Alternatively, you can do it from your profile page.  On there the box says "Write a public message on your own feed...".  Again, you can type directly into that box and it will show up in the Status updates on the Basschat homepage.

It just occurred to me that the term "Bass Bash" makes it sound like a meeting for drummers.  Surely "Bass Bum Diddy Bumbum" would be more apt.

Have a good 'un chaps and chapesses.

  23. This just popped up on my feed. I'm not a golfer, but even if I was, I don't think I'd be in a rush to play this course... image.png.6efac375b762a74cd35a1c186b2454af.png

He:  "Just popping out for a few holes dear!"

She:  "Okay darling, I'll have your doughnut cushion nice and warm for you when you pop back in."

Golfers:  Our balls are dimpled for extra pleasure.
