  1. And now we're getting two kittens. Unsure how this transpired

Wait 'till they discover guitar cases.  It's great that you're getting two.  They'll tire each other out.

  2. Note to self: in future, never ever ever get a Covid booster and a flu jab at the same time or in the same arm. Ouch, and moreover, ugh. 🤕😷

One shot in each arm here too.  Slight ache in the pfizer arm but otherwise fine.  I've not heard of anyone else taking them both in the one arm.

  4. I am now a veteran here on BassChat. Does that just mean I'm old? 😉  😀

No.  It just means that you have to do a lot of spaying, neutering and expressing of anal glands.

  7. Flightradar is so cool. I've just watched some in-flight refuelling taking place over the North Sea.

      I had a look.

That's amazing!  I can't believe how much air traffic there is at any one time.  I like how it shows the different craft: Commercial jets, light aircraft, gliders and helicopters.

  9. I've noticed my left ear was a bit muffled of late, so all this week I've been popping a few drops of Otex in each evening in an attempt to soften it all up... last evening I gave it a good flush out with some hot water, and now not only can I hear in glorious stereo again, but I've got the makings of a good sized candle. zzzzzzzbx3o48f1K6x6.gif.b2b3fc9149a80279e6c0387c2182a48e.gif

  10. Hi, everybody. I'm learning several instruments, mostly electric bass guitar with no pick. I've been learning for a couple years. I love it. I mostly play gigs in a duet with my brother on electric guitar. We both sing.

We do it because it's fun, and because making music along with small groups of people is tangible magic.

  11. Any NE soldering guri's? having a headscratch...

What's the best time to give up soldering? asking for a friend....

Ground hum, or no sound.. May have to rework some parts to fit properly in the smaller channel.

Did a test run but it was getting abit unworldly.

  14. There's nothing in this pointless section. It can all go in Off Topic or some other area

  15. What can be done with a gig bag with a broken zip??

I have a nice case in otherwise good condition with a zip that doesn't work - reluctant to throw it away if it can be rescued or repaired.

    Anybody??

  16. A shout out to my grandson Oliver @Dasbassman who has just signed up here and may be one of the youngest at 13. He's becoming a fine player and also plays guitar and keys (& good vocals). I've pretty much given up gigging now so it's over to Ollie to carry the flag. He's currently playing a cheapo P style 30" Ebay bass through a Peavey combo I found cheap. He's saving for a decent 34", maybe a MIM P or similar. He also plays a US Strat (I helped find that😂) through a Marshall valvestate. I'm going to nag him to get posting now!

  17. Anyone here use short or medium scale Rotosound swing bass? Just put a set on my Hofner and the E string has some really weird overtones, wondering if these die down once the strings break in.

Does it still do it when you play My Perfect Cousin by the Undertones?

  20. Just been made a Basschat Grand Master. I assume this means I get keys to the executive Basschat loo and my own personal parking space? No one need salute, happy to keep it informal.

All it means is that you get only fresh fruit and vegetables thrown at you instead of rotten stuff.  The fresh stuff is much harder so it's not the great deal it appears to be at first.

      Congrats.

Have you asked in any of the photo threads?  There are some interesting processes being discussed at the moment.

  25. Hi all,

My name is Bill and I am a free style bassist who started back in the early 60’s and then became a DJ in 1972 up until 2000. I then went back to playing bass for some friends and also joined a local church where I played in some of the worship bands for several years. I now play as and when friends ask me to step in if they need a bassist as I live in Worcester and it is not too far to travel around the area.
