  1. Yeah. Thought thread was about should bands carry one... Only Jeff Waters is the original member.
  2. Annihilator.. underated trash metal band. Saw them two years back opening for Testament, should've been the other way. They play in London in October 🤘
  3. Just out of interest. If this is 150 w 4 ohm what cabs would you hook up.
  4. Cheers it's on the use CODE is on top of LBGS page. Dooh
  5. How to get the BC discount? There doesn't seem to be an option
  6. Beat me to it
  7. Well I'm not joining a band. Looked promising but the guitarist stopped the project. At least I know what to get if things happen in future.
  8. Agree, I'm in no rush spending money, but pre emptively wanted some advice on amp wattage. I've been to a few pub gigs and often cannot distinguish the difference between bass played in bands as all I hear is booming sound. Some with a bigger pedal board than guitar players and no difference in sound tone.
  9. Iron Maiden used to sleep in the van with their gear in.
  10. I bought a SquierMatt Freeman some years back. I replaced the pups with Seymour Duncan Spb 4. Months later I reverted to stock pups as the bass sounded better with them, at least to my ears. You can pick up a cheap Squier on e bay etc. Replace the bridge pups and tuners , still cheaper than overpriced bigger name basses.
  11. Your questions are light years ahead. But the plan is originals and rehearse in a studio. As for the gigs, it's far far away.
  12. P bass and flats is all you need
  13. I own a Squier jaz classic C vibe. Amazing. I replaced the stock pups with Seymour Duncan pups.
  14. My misses said You're not buying anything until you have few rehearsals 😄
  15. https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Fender-Rumble-500-2x10-Bass-Combo/X0R With this https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Fender-Rumble-2x10-Bass-Cabinet-Black-Silver/15VO?utm_medium=display&network=criteo&retargeting_or_placement=retargeting&utm_source=criteo&utm_campaign=lowerfunnel
  16. The combo is 350w and you can add another 250w extension cab
  17. After 20-23 years absence from playing in a band, it looks like I may be joining a band. I took up playing bass again about 8 years ago and since then the GAS feeling has had it's peak moments. Now that I will be joining a 5 piece rock/hard rock band, two guitars drummer, singer and me I will need some gear for rehearsals and maybe gigs later on. I own a Fender Rumble 100 V3. It's freaking loud in home environment, less than quarter of master and gain is sufficient for home use. I tested the master volume at 3 o'clock setting and it was very loud. Not sure if it will keep up with distorted guitars and a drum. I like the idea of Fender Rumble 500 watt V3 combo with added extension cab to get the full 500 watts or even without to use 350w at rehearsals. What I like about Fender Rumble is the versitality and vintage look. Any other ideas on combos, amps plus cabs for the above scenario? I do like the idea of the old fashioned fridge units but I don't have ontourage staff to shuffle it for me and probably never will 😄
  18. Think those strings are binned. I've seen a back stage video where the strings are cut off. ☹️
  19. I thought it was only Steve Harris having his signature flat rotos changed every gig. I don't gig but surely strings aftercare can improve longevity to less fortunate amatuer players.
  20. Nothing wrong with Squier basses or guitars. A proper set up, strings to match your desired sound and feel, and a good amp set up is all you need. Think players keep things complicated with excessive pedal boards, funny looking instruments and expensive cabs. All you end up is tweaking the sound between the songs during a gig.
  21. I owned the 100w version Fender Rumble since they released it and the sound is amazing. Loud and versatile.
