  1. Problem solved. Have been running a new gaming laptop for a week or so. I had to re instal all the DAW plug ins and VST. It has been a painstaking process. Luckily, Focusrite sent me new activation codes 👍 and Ableton support team has been helpful. It appears to be running smoothly. I still have lots and lots of projects to transfer with 'collect and save' info. I find the process complicated and still lot to learn and do. The best thing about the new laptop is that there is no more hum/ground noise. Quiet like a 🐁 when running even the highest gain amp through Amplitube 4. I'm finally able to play with laptop plugged in.
  2. I've tried tea and coffee not the best result. I soaked the pickguard in very strong black ground coffee in a baking tray. It was submerged for 48 hours with poor result. It barely stained it even though I sanded it with a fine sand paper. The I rubbed brown shoe polish in and what a treat.
  3. Maybe the handwritten T looked like Y.
  4. I've just received an item from Europe. Arrived in 36 hours delivered by DHL. No issues. Was the post code handwritten on your parcel?
  5. Voted after two listens. Shame it's a poor turnout.
  6. Received a message from @suswill. Scam. Can this profile be deleted and blocked.
  7. I've encountered the similar issues recently. The sound was crackling, distorted and slow. I was unable to record. I ran chkdsc and the message was ' windows replaced bad clusters in file' after several hours and different messages the end result was:"Window has made correction to file system'. I am running Ableton live DAW. It turned out to be that VST is causing crashes. I'm told to try re install VST. I did chkdsc after some research and took risk I don't suggest it unless you know what you're doing. Is there are free lance pc expert in your area?
  8. Unable to finish my project due to laptop and DAW issues. The main culprit is Amplitude 4 in DAW .. Ableton live 10 keeps crushing. ☹️Need to reset both as suggested by Ableton tech team.
  9. Excellent communication and prompt payment. Reliable basschatter. Thanks Aidan
  10. Fender flats are good value=functionality but it's all subjective.
  11. I own two brands. Steve Harris signature flats. Not recommended for any bass other than p basses with chunky, I mean baseball type necks. High tension. Fender flats used on my squier p bass. so nice warm smooth with comfortable tension.
  12. Won't be able to compose this month. Started this week unfortunately my laptop has had it. Running chkdsc and it has been replacing bad clusters file in DAW all night. Got my eyes on new gaming laptop.😁
  13. Very useful info on here as my laptop now is about to die. It ran smoothly with new SSD, reboot and new wind 10.
  14. Well? he'll be an expert to judge a sea bass dish. Bet he will say ' this beefy stew should've been cooked on low temperature,.
  15. I'm a bit dubious saving personal stuff on free cloud storage.
  16. Instruments reviews are subjective. 10 reviewers will give 10 different reviews and get 10 different sounds. You can make the worst bass or guitar sound better through a good amp or sim than custom shop through a bad equipment.
  17. You're definitely backed up. Should I stick to operate my DAW and stuff I need for recording from internal SSD and back up my work on HDD. I use laptop with SSD Samsung evo 250gb. I'm thinking connecting also 1xSSD and 1xHDD. SSD for fast access and HDD for archiving and back up.

  19. I'm using a laptop. is there other way to connect an eternal hard drive?
  20. Just curious how you ladies and gents save your work? What external hard drives you use? e.g. ssd or hdd? Research suggests that ssd is faster but more fragile than hdd. Hdd is easier to retrieve when it brakes.
